You may have heard of the old "breath in through the nose, out through the mouth" ...well forget all that!! You need to breath in and out as your body needs it, and if that means huffing and puffing the whole time, then that is fine! If you get a little dry-mouthed, then take a swig of water. If your breathing becomes to labored to handle, then just slow down, take a break. But don't try to "control" your breathing, just let it come naturally.
When I was running with my running group, there would be all sorts of "breathers". Some of us sounded like a freight train, some of us never made a sound, some of us sounded like you needed to call the paramedics! So don't worry too much about a technique...just whatever works best for you.
