to improve speed - get stronger
to improve endurance - soccer players don't need anymore endurance...you need interval training, sprints etc
to improve reaction time - plying more soccer in competition type settings |

It's been a while since asked, but someone might be searching for somethnig about soccer skills improvement.
http://expertfootball.com/
This site contains lots of stuff and videos on how to improve fitness, technique, tactics etc..
Also, about the speed thing. I think lowering your body fat improves speed. I remember when i was 9% and really fast (although muslceless above my waist) and now i am 17% and quite slow for my standards (although stronger). |

I'm playing soccer tommorow with some friends. From experience at it, i know i have to eat what i eat before a workout (2h before).
What should i do to prevent muscle catabolism coz i won't have eaten for 4h when it finishes.
Can an energy drink help me?? When should i take it??? Right before it? Every some minutes (when a goal is scored i have the time to drink some)? |

I'd just go for something that easy to have, like a Chicken Sandwhich, or half a Protein shake, and something like Low Salt Peanuts, to get some Carbs.
Don't bother trying to drink energy drinks between goals, it depends on how many are scored and when, it's not a very good way to control the intake.
I'd also be tempted to eat about 30 minutes before the game, or you'll be well out of energy possibly near the end, if you eat 2hrs before playing. |
