what have you done before?
how much do you eat?
without knowing anything do 10 sets of 3 with a wt yiou can lift 5 times
calories need to be 15 calories x your bodyweight in pounds at least |

First off you need to eat big to get big. And no junk food or alcohol is allowed.
Also, are you weak, or do you have decent strenght? I'd recommend you start low with at least 50lbs. dumbbells, with a lot of reps, till you get used to the whole working out thing. After that, choose a weight that lets you do more than 6 reps but less than 12, and workout at least 3 days a week. |

| why not get used to a 6, 8 or 12 rep wt? why high reps? that will only get used to using high reps.... |

| well "heavy" for him will still be light and you need to good at doing 2 reps before you can be good at and so on |
