Re: Project Athene - 15 Weeks of Work
I was using this thread as an excuse to procrastinate on the forums too much.... hence absence! I'm logging on paper, the good old fashioned way, and everything's going well! Thanks Becky!

Re: Rich's Journal
Ugh, I've been sick too! Glad you're doing better now. It is tough though, cravings are back with a vengence and old habits reappeared as I sat on butt and watched TV through illness. Time to get up and get moving again! You need to rest when you're ill, be kind to yourself. As for the cravings, I a...

Week#1, Day 4: Sept 20, 12
Thanks again Boss. By the way, what does that headless grecian style statue represent? It's Nike, the goddess of victory associated with Athena/Athene. The statue is in the Louvre, I think. Breakfast - 5 oz chicken breast, 2 cups coffee with whole milk Lunch - 5 oz chicken breast, water Dinner - 5 o...

Re: Trying to eat unprocessed in a processed world
I love what you had with your chicken... I'm going to get sweet potatoes and avocados from the grocery store asap, those are great lunch and dinner options.
Keep up the great work

Week #1, Day 3: Sept 19, 12
You've got a lot of things going on right now, but I know you can do it, because you are someone I am confident I can always believe in. You are so kind! Having lovely comments from you is like a daily affirmation. I hope I don't grow to require the validation, as opposed to just really appreciate ...

Re: Do More Pullups?
The more strict you are about form, the faster you will progress. If you start swinging or recruiting power from other places, your lats won't be built up the same way, and that's what you need, so don't look for shortcuts, just take the breaks you need and do them strict until you get stronger and ...

Wee#1, Day 2: Sept 18, 12
Thanks for your encouragement,Becky and Bossman! You're both really supportive. There seems to be a lot of caffeinated drinks entering into the fray, is that intentional or a temporary thing? I presume this is sort of a work in progress, as it looks a bit low calorie in some respects :). That's a li...

Re: Project Shehulkish
I just let employer know I needed to start looking for something else, and she was very understanding. I have the job until they replace me, or I find something else.

Re: Project Shehulkish
I can't pay bills I was kind of in denial about it because I like aspects of the job a lot, but I maxed out a credit card and am spending nest egg that I was saving for a house... it's just not sustainable longterm. The job market is still okay here, too, it's not like in the US or the UK.

Project Athene - 15 Weeks of Work
Project Athene is attempt at a lifestyle change for the remaining 15 weeks of 2012. I want to give myself a chance to develop a routine that is balanced between nutrition, training, school, and work, and is thereby sustainable longterm. Diet is where I drop the ball and derail from other goals, so t...

This past week I both quit job and realized that thesis needs much work than I initially thought. I've been evaluating priorities, and nutrition and training have to be well organized and just part of routine, so that I can think about other things and dedicate more energy to school and finding a ne...

Re: Project Shehulkish
Thank you so much, Rich, that means a lot to me. I sometimes forget that people read this and it makes me feel mixed emotions lol I need it though, so thank you. If no one read this I would likely just give up. It's not that you do it for others, right? It's just that it helps to know you've made a ...
