Re: Women And Weights
I did not say I didn't feel them, I stated it's the least of the muscle groups I feel. form is actually quite good and I'll be happy to post a video for your discretion if you would like. Deadlifting heavy weights well over 300lbs tends to use a lot of legs, arms, traps and full body strength to kee...

Re: One year later & legs not getting bigger
After diet, the next thing to look at would be your workout, as Bonnie is eluding to. I can only grab from experience, but leg size (and I'm like you, I have a family gene pool that has small legs) depends on diet and heavy weight. You can tone your legs and make them look good, but if you want some...

Re: Am I doing the right thing?
Your diet looks good, although at a glance it looks like your diet may not be getting enough protein. It's hard to say without serving sizes though.
What's ultimately important is that you are making progress and feeling better.

Re: Women And Weights
Dead lifts are a gluteal exercise with synergist contribution for the hamstrings. When I do deadlifts... glutes are among the last things I feel. In regards to overworking the legs, EACH muscle group can safely be worked 3 x per week. I believe in all fairness to your comment and mine we should fin...

Re: Picture so far, opinions plz
No problem. To add the weight, keep training hard and eat the calories to support the muscle growth. You can definitely continue to gain weight and still retain your speed, in fact you can increase your speed... your quickness however will need work but that's part of training. I've seen athletes wh...

Re: February routine
I would definitely avoid doing this routine day in/out. There are a lot of isolation exercises in your routine and not a lot (okay, none actually) of full body workouts. For a beginner or someone who is trying to get started and trying to tone up overall, I would start off with a full body exercise ...

Re: February routine
Hey there Tyler. Firstly, what is your goal? Weight loss, strength training, muscle building or aesthetics? For any of those options, squats and deadlifts (I will swear by them always) are a must. They work the body as a whole, from legs, back, core, shoulders and arms. How often are you training? A...

Re: How do you keep motivated
To me, the improvement of health and muscle growth is enough... it's addictive and working so hard for this long keeps me motivated to not lose the progress I've made. All those hours, all that sweat, pain and soreness is not going to be in vain. I always tell myself "I've got gains to maintain...

Re: Women And Weights
KJ726: How much weight should women lift, MAX if they are looking only to tone and get lean muscles? That all depends on the individual and the exercise. It's impossible to paint all women (with body types, experience and goals) with the same MAX. I do legs 3 days a week because I love it and I enjo...

Re: Am I doing the right thing?
Dior, Your cardio routine sounds good for losing fat, but two things I don't see it doing: 1. Toning up your body. Losing the fat is great, but if you don't have muscle underneath you're just going to look skinny. Do you do any weight training? 2. Addressing your diet. If you are working out as freq...

Re: Picture so far, opinions plz
Hey there Tom and welcome. Looking good so far. Getting an opinion somewhat depends on what your goal is? What is your goal? Are you looking to stay lean? Are you looking to bulk up and add muscle? Are you looking to begin body building competition in a couple years? Are you just working out to buil...
Re: Deadlifts
Deadlifts have got to be favorite exercise too. I do Squats, Deads and Overhead press in a circuit style... and I'm completely wiped out after that run, especially on the Deads.

Ditto on this. Ditto on the whole response actually. As for direct weight loss, you would need to post what your eating looks like for a day, with times & portion sizes included, thanks.

Re: Skinny new guy needs advice
Hey Niel, There are two things here that kinda jump out at me... 1. Don't fear the weights and the gym. Lifting 3 days a week will probably benefit you... I would wager Brad Pitt lifted weights more than twice a week to accomplish that physique in Fight Club. Your plan looks to burn a lot of fat, wh...
