Re: 6 Months On

Hey guys, Thanks again for all of the great comments. I can't believe it's been over a year since I last posted here. Things have been going well for me since then and I've continued to grow stronger and become fitter. Over the weeked I completed a 10km run that involved climbing steep slopes and wa...

Re: Plateuing

The pain was in the hip on the lowering of the leg. The pain has completely gone away now when I do the exercise, so must have been something temporary. Worth asking on here though of course, just in case :)

Re: When to increase weight

When I get to a new weight, I usually go for 4x8-10 reps on that weight. If the first 2 sets are good and the last 2 are between 8-10 or so, the next week I'll up the weight for the first 2 sets and then go back to previous weight for the last 2 sets. I usually have to do this for a couple weeks unt...

Re: Plateuing

Hey guys. It's been a while but I've been doing well and have a question. Firstly, I'm now down to 82.4kg (as of this morning). Secondly, I've started doing some ab workouts. I started a few weeks ago doing alternate cycles and progress has been pretty good. However, last friday during second set, I...

Re: Plateuing

It's been a while since I last posted, so I just thought I'd give an update. I'm now down to 85.2kg and I feel like I'm back in stride now :)

Re: best shot

I think what Bonnie was getting at is that our health does impact the rest of society. In the UK with state paid healthcare, people who develop illnesses because of their weight do have a real financial impact on society, and thus impacts the service the rest of us receieve. I don't know how the gov...

Re: Plateuing

86.6kg again this week. Had a good week but maybe I'm not eating enough, always feel bummed out after monday runs but I ate a bit more today and seemed to get over that. Ran 6km at 31:27 today, a little way off best. I tried sprinting at the start to take some time off but that didn't work at all lo...

Re: Plateuing

86.6kg this morning, so something seems to have given :) I'm still going to cut some carbs out because it's something I should have done a long time ago anyway. I'm keeping the cardio the same, managed to run fastest 6km this morning, 30:10. Really happy with that time and I'm sure I can get it unde...

Re: Plateuing

It's been about 4 weeks now, so I think I do need to do something. I'll start cutting out some carbs like you said and see what happens. I think I will also change up some of cardio to see if that helps. Not only just to break this plateau, but also I don't want body to get used to running at curren...

Re: Plateuing

This recent plateau is really getting to me now. diet has been spotless so far this week, but it doesn't look like it's going to be any improvement on the weigh in on monday. From everything I've read, I need to change up cardio to beat this thing. I currently do: Monday, 6km run which takes about 3...

Re: Plateuing

Weighed in this morning and came in at 87.8kg. I've been floating around 87 and 88 for the last 3 weeks now and it's starting to get annoying. I've been exercising and eating right over that time aswell, which makes it even more annoying. I'm going to try and have another good week this week. Had a ...

Re: Plateuing

Heh. Me starting also got him into losing weight. He's lost 70lbs but hasn't put on as much muscle. I think if I hadn't put on muslce I'd have lost 70 by now too heh. He's down at gym with me this week and next whilst he's down. It's fun pushing him hard on the weights :D

Re: Plateuing

Hey guys. Had a bad week as I was over at twin's at the weekend and had a couple nights of heavy drinking. Don't even want to post the weight this week as I'm retreading lost ground. On a side note, some random guy who is down the gym regularly randomly spoke to me today and was asking me about weig...

Re: Plateuing

Cheers Boss. Had weigh in this morning, down to 87.0, a loss of 1.1. I think the big loss was body responding to heavy workouts after being deprived from regular workouts the 2 previous weeks. Not too worried that it was a larger loss in a single week than I should be aiming for. As for degree, I ha...
