Second Session Into Training

It's Wed, and just finished exercise session for the day. Finding way back into workout sessions is apparently a real morale booster. Using the minimal time I have gotten to exercise, I absolutely do feel like the better person. I just seem to smile more, it should be all those endorphins kicking in...

It really depends on the amount of effort you will be dedicating to the obliques.

Re: Jared is getting back to strength training

The joy that is a SLAP tear has to do with pain real deep in the shoulder. It's something that's common in baseball pitchers. It There's a ring of tissue over the shoulder socket that's called the labrum. It's suppose to prevent dislocations. This specific injury is called a SLAP because of the way ...

Re: LaReina Mae's Bikini Competition Journal!

I stumbled on this thread and was curious to see what competition you chose in the end, no pun intended.

Jared is getting back to strength training

I've just completed rehab for a slap tear in shoulder I got in October. Yikes, talk about discomfort . Since I'm healthy now, I've started training back up this week, I did a session on Monday, which went pretty well, and will be getting the second one in later this afternoon. As you can imagine I f...

Re: Overwhelmed and frustrated

When I first roamed the produce aisle, I didn't know what half of the stuff was, or how to even think about preparing them. I found the frozen bags of vegetables were more suitable to knowledge back then, and still today. They last longer than fresh veggies, which can rot in the fridge after a coupl...

Re: Confession: I have to eat EVERYTHING on plate

If I'm eating out, you ask the server to box up half of meal. There's less temptation for over indulging. Also, you have a meal for later. It might sound silly at first, but it you don't see it, you won't eat it.

Re: Workout in the A.M. or P.M.

I like to keep training times to late afternoon, when I've had a chance to fit meals in accordingly and when I am most mentally prepared to hit the weights. Some people prefer am to pm, I don't really think the benefits matter all the much if it when one way or another. From I've experience later wo...

Re: WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST

Nora, I've been hearing a lot of trainers recommend cardio before resistance training lately. I hope this isn't a fad. Your cardio should mainly be done after your workouts. But it shouldn't be thought of as a cool down. It's normally called LIT(Light Intensity Training), where you're doing a steady...

Re: Plank question

Using the"pushup" plank can be a great way to increase the level of difficulty if you transition to a side plank. This will help to reinforce the conditioning of your core.

Re: Heart rate question

You can't really judge your heart rate with a monitor when performing HIIT. They're mostly configured for LIT cardio. The HIIT won't burn as many calories during the span of your elliptical session, but more calories are burned later on in the day. The machine doesn't tell you that.

Re: i wan 2 lose weight fast n im nt going gym

Small changes in your diet alone might help you get some what there, but you'll need to implement some form of cardiovascular activity. You don't need to join a gym to do that, but you'll need to train somehow. Losing 30 kg (66 lbs) in four months isn't impossible. Be careful, however, that much los...

Re: Jump rope?

I've added the jump rope into dynamic warmup and can't really say why it took me so long to try it out. It's clearly favorite part. I also use it for HIIT, so easy to feel it working when I'm burned out on sprinting and what not.

Re: HIIT on the tradmill

Not to say getting the full effects of HIIT on a treadmill is impossible, but it's not the most friendly machine to do it on. Your suggested routine might break your ankle if you jump right on between sets. If you're determined to use a machine try an elliptical or bike. You're less likely to incur ...
