Re: Recently lost 20 pounds and getting married!!!

That shouldn't be hard considering how much you are accomplishing so far. I can think of two things that you can do diet wise; one is to drink only water instead of any other drinks. It's zero calories and helps with weight loss. The second is to eat more vegetables; cooked and raw. They are low cal...

New to Weight Training - how to start?

I only exercise a little. I'm 51 and thinking that I should probably get toned up and more fit. I'm 5'4" and am at ideal weight at 115 lbs. But I'm looking and feeling saggy, baggy, and older. I just want to hear from everyone about what would be a good way to start out in weight lifting.

Re: Newbie here needs help on cardio

It's good that you are alternating your efforts and not just doing the same thing everyday. You may want to also look into having a few days each week where you lift some weights. But get a trainer so you don't injure yourself. Weight lifting has been found to be a great additional exercise for burn...

Workout Advice Needed

Does anyone know much about weight lifting? I am a beginner and I don't want to injure myself. I know that I should start with the smallest weights. son is pretty buff, and he says that you have to experience pain to grow muscle. I just want to get toned up and am not interested in pain. What can I ...

I like to make little one minute exercises part of routine throughout the day - a little here and a little there. It all adds up. http://www.nutribuff.com/exercise/doing ... y-routine/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Need help with a fitness schedule

If you want to lose weight at your age, I think you are on the right track with your running. Walking briskly, jogging, and running are the very best ways to burn fat. You are young and growing, so I wouldn't overdo it. For the sake of your health, just go running for 15 minutes a day. You should be...

Re: Weight loss over 40

It's possible to be at your ideal weight at any age. I am also over 40, in fact I'm 51. I have been at ideal weight for at least 20 years. I choose to try to eat the healthiest way possible most of the time. If I were you, I would get out and start going on a brisk walk for 15 minutes a day. Drink w...

Re: does fiber cause you to bloat and retain water?

I think it could be a problem if you ate mostly vegetables. And, if you mostly ate them raw. Vegetables are low in calories, so a lot of people go overboard on something that makes you feel full, provides vitamins, and is very low calorie. The fiber is supposed to help you lose weight because it car...

Congratulations! It looks like you are finding some things that work for you. That's awesome that you are having energy, know the fat-burning foods, and have made some good efforts. You are on your way to success with your goals, and then you can help everyone else that is struggling.

Re: New here need some advice

Congratulations on losing ten pounds so far. The exercise that you are doing is going to pay off in continued weight loss. Wearing shorts and a t-shirt would be comfortable. If you were to wear sweats, you would sweat more and lose some water weight that way. But, being naturally hydrated is importa...

Re: Paleo diet?

I haven't done it and don't plan to do it. It's a very limited choice of foods. Humans have digestive enzymes for starch, it's natural and good for humans to eat wholesome starches like grains, beans, and potatoes. They are very likable foods, easy to digest, and they give you some great energy. It'...

Re: Fats -- Are They Really Necessary?

Yes, you do need some fat in your diet for certain bodily functions and hormones, but the human need for fats is so sparing, that even if you don't add fats to your diet, you will easily get enough fat from the food you are eating. If you ate only plant foods, you would get some fat from greens, gra...

Re: Pro-anorexia Websites.

Well, this has been informative. I didn't realize there were sites like that on the internet to support anorexia. It's good that you are getting the word out, anorexia is a dangerous habit.
