Re: Emotional Eater
I have found that when I have to be at job for a long time and I don't get a break and can't eat for 6 hours or more, I get really stressed and angry. Then I eat way too much as soon as I get the chance. I used to be very fat because I only ate 2 large meals a day and sat around a lot. Then I got a ...

Re: scared of working out
I work out hard because I like pain, but it sounds like you don't and maybe you are overtraining. Try to ease into it. Exercising is a lifestyle. You can't just go all out one week, get sore, then quit and expect that exercise you did to have drastic results that last a year. It just doesn't work th...

How could you hate both? Line dancing only allows one to escape their problems temporarily. Guns everything forever! Woohoo!

Re: ? from a guy
i don't know what rock those old bags are living under, but I have the opposite problem. Every time I try to pick up a fitness mag or read an article online, at school, or somewhere, it is always the same "I am a pround mother of 3...blah blah...I'm 52 and...blah blah...after struggling with ca...

Re: Weight Routines in the Gym vs. at home
That is interesting what you say about the tomatoes. I don't much like them anyway, so no worry there. I have been taking MSM for years because I have always had problems with knees and it helped immensely. Unfortunately, the place I always bought them stopped selling it in capsule form. So I went s...

Re: Need help losing the last few pounds!
You could try doing a different routine every week. If you do total body now, maybe try doing 2 upper body days--abs, arms, back shoulders, and 2 leg days--glutes, quads, calves, hamstrings. Or if you already do split days, switch the days you do weights and cardio, or do total body circuits. I rece...

Re: Six pac exercises?
I think those are great. You may want to look into something called scissors crunches. It isn't like tucks to sprawls, but those are good too. I tried to do the scissors crunches about 3 days ago and almost died. I take that as a good sign haha. It sort of works your abs one side at a time, doing ab...

Split Squat vs. Lunge?
What is the difference between a split squat and your basic straightforward lunge? They look the same to me! I mean, obviously a walking lunge or reverse lunge is a little different, but seriously, what's the dif? I know depending on how big of a step you take, you emphasize either your quads or glu...

Nah, Boss Man, I'm a gun nut who lives out in the middle of nowhere, not a country music fan who line dances. Two totally different things.

Re: Arms exercises
I have seen people lying on their backs doing biceps curls or reverse curls. I was never sure how to do the form properly, so I haven't tried it, but it may be something you can look into. Also, if you join a gym, they should have a preacher bench. You can do biceps curls off a preacher bench to rea...

Deadlifting Dummy?
Well I did 100 stiff-legged deadlifts on Friday. I knew I was gonna hurt, but I hurt worse than I thought. I'm afraid maybe I didn't do form correctly since the reps were so high. Usually I only do about 20 deadlifts. The way I was taught to do them emphasizes the glutes and hamstrings. However, the...

Re: Cardio Days
Thanks man. Now I don't feel so worried about having to do more cardio. I think I'll just stick to 2 steady 40 minutes a week and one or two 20 minute sessions of higher intensity like kickboxing. I have also been adding about 5 minutes of cardio intervals in between sets, doing like a circuit.

Re: Need fat loss and muscle gain
While you can't spot train, building muscle in your butt is a good idea because the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn. You want to train your glutes because it is pretty much the biggest muscle in your body. To me, you sound tiny, so if you think you still have weight to lose, you must be ...

100 rep sets
If you are looking for something to kill yourself with, try the workout I did on Friday: 2 sets of 20 split squats with a 10 pound weight in each hand 1 set of 100 high bench squats with only body weight 2 sets of 15 standing kickbacks each leg 1 set of 100 stiff-legged deadlifts with 10 pounds or l...

Memorial Day Weekend
Anybody else being a bad little girl like me? Anybody else pig out? I did but somehow I don't care. I worked out so hard the past week I could barely do job, which is also hard physically. I figured I deserved a cheat meal to stuff myself. However, any suggestions on what I should eat the next coupl...
