Re: Good workout except for 1 thing, leg soreness
So that's why legs have gotten sore without any injury from the lunges, the first one was DOMS but the others were a muscle imbalance. So maybe if I do 5 squats and 5 lunges, legs will not be sore except maybe once during the week and I can gradually increase the amount of both just as I would for a...

Good workout except for 1 thing, leg soreness
So I have thought of a workout that targets main muscle groups and helps burn fat. Here it is: 10 sit ups 10 abdominal stretches(back exercise) 10 push ups 20 bicep curls with 1 lb weights( arms can tolerate a lot before they get sore, In fact, I am thinking of possibly amping this up before the oth...

Exercise vs Illness
I have caught a cold and I know that an ill body needs rest.
But at the same time, I want to start toning muscles again and do cardio to ready myself for running a 5K.
Since illness is just a cold, should I exercise to help lose weight and tone muscles or should I wait until I don't have a cold?

Re: Is strength training important for a 5K
But the negative incline setting for most treadmills only goes to 3-5 degrees down compared to the positive incline of up to 30 degrees. Most hills have the same or similar magnitude of slope when comparing uphill to downhill so if I were to use the treadmill at a positive incline of 30 degrees(this...

Is strength training important for a 5K
I know that strength training is as important for a marathon as running but is strength training important for running a 5K? I have seen a lot of plans out there and some just involve running, walking, and rest days, whereas others involve 30-40 minutes of strength training in between runs(and this ...

Back hurts after core workout, no pulled muscle, why?
I have started exercising to build muscle again but this time, instead of just exercising abs, I am exercising abs, chest, and back muscles. For back muscles, I go from a downward dog position to a cobra position 10 times. For abs, I do 1 set of 10 situps. For chest, I do 1 set of 10 pushups. With p...

C25K
I have done first week of C25K training this week and this morning at 9:00, I did a 5K. I didn't run the whole 5K but I did walk the whole 5K. I have a lot of speed and endurance. I am thinking of starting second week of C25K training on Monday to give legs a bit of rest from the 5K whether or not I...

Staged muscle building vs all at the same time
Even though I could look muscular just from loosing weight, in order for me to get to that point just via weight loss would probably mean the loss of menstrual cycle since the body fat % would have to be low, low enough for me to be underweight. I was once concerned that if I lose fat and build musc...

Re: 90 days transformation
Yeah I can see quite a difference in between all the pictures. In the 1 month picture I don't really see much muscle definition except in the upper abs. I don't see much vascularization either. In the 2 month picture I see a lot more muscle definition and some vascularization. In the 3 month picture...

Extreme weight loss followed by mild weight gain
Last week I lost 15 lbs just from increasing daily step count and the amount of time that heart is in the fat-burning and cardio zones(has never reached the peak zone but gotten close). Most of that was probably water weight but some of it had to be fat weight since it was 15 lbs that I lost. This w...

Exercise through menstrual cramps or stop?
This is 1 question that has always been in head ever since I started trying to go from fat and obese to muscular and healthy weight. If abs are sore or down and outright in pain, I will not do abdominal exercises. I sometimes will do sit ups to relieve gas if having a bowel movement isn't helping. I...

Re: Injury or just extreme DOMS?
It turns out that the abdominal soreness mostly when stretching or during active contraction was due to me pulling a muscle at some point in the 3 sets of 10 sit ups. After a week of total rest I tried to do 1 sit up but I couldn't do it. And I mean really couldn't do it. I couldn't lift body up, ju...

Injury or just extreme DOMS?
I did 3 sets of 10 sit ups yesterday. Yesterday, the most I felt was a little soreness from lactate. Today, I feel a lot of abdominal pain when I stretch the muscle but not when I contract it. Because of this I did push ups today to kind of give abs a rest while still toning muscles. It feels like a...

Smelly discharge before menstrual pain and bleeding normal?
1 thing that I havent noticed until last period is vaginal discharge becoming smelly. When I started noticing the smell I thought at first that it was urine since urine often causes me to become a little smelly. But then I smelled it again and I realized that it wasn't a urine smell or a poop smell....

Particular pattern in menstrual period even when length and total bleeding are irregular
I notice whenever I have a period light or heavy, long or short that it follows a characteristic pattern of the amount of bleeding. For 5 day menstrual periods(5 days is average length although I have had periods as long as 8 days) which are sometimes followed by spotting for 2 days I have 3 phases....
