Re: protein shake query

The "Anabolic Window" is something that's often debated, but it seems the consensus is that your total daily intake of protein is what matters most, so what you're doing should be fine!

You can do bodyweight deadlifts or squats.

Re: Begging Cardio

You don't have to beg to do cardio, they should just let you do it anyway  Start by walking. It will get your heart rate up and isn't hard on your joints. Then move up to something like the elliptical, a brisk walk, then maybe you'll eventually get back to running. Go slow. You don't want t...

Re: Workouts for people on the road?

Hotel gyms are not always as good as their site shows Seriously. I've seen some extremely pathetic gyms, but sometimes you can manage to get creative and get a decent workout in. A lot of gyms offer day passes, and there are a lot of gyms that give you nationwide access: LA Fitness, 24 Hour, Planet...

Re: Recommended exercises after ACL Ligament Knee surgery for Quads

I had a meniscectomy on my knee about 7 years ago. Never been the same since. I've found that squatting and REALLY paying attention to form is the best thing for me. Don't feel embarrassed offloading the weight and really keeping the form tight.

Re: Newbie! Minimum equipment for beginner?

Check out gyms in your area? I don't have the space in my apartment nor do I have the money to invest in all the equipment that I need. A 2-year 24-hour fitness membership from costco is like $379 or something.

Re: Preworkout

I don't necessarily think all preworkouts are gimmicky. They aren't "necessary" but they do often give me that boost when I'm not feeling up for a lifting session. There's no doubt that the combination of caffeine, yohimbine and other stimulants get you excited about working out. As far as...

There's this too. Also I imagine it's cheaper.

Re: Anyone doing stoptober?

I don't believe that e-cigs are a better option, but it's a step in the right direction. There's a few components to cigarette addiction - one part is the actual chemical addiction to the nicotine, and the other part is the oral fixation. That's why the gum works - you're still doing something with ...
