Re: Cassie's 2010 Contest Prep Journal
Cassie, I know whatever you decide, you will be ready. I do know the $$$ it costs to compete and it can really drain your bank account. Some don't realize the aomunts taht can be racked up between the super healthy eating 6 times a day and stagewear, posing coaches, tanning and all the other extras....

Re: flat feet and cardio
Totally agree Leslie! Seeing a podiatrist will be a great investment also. We have a great running shop near us and they do a walking and running gate test with a pressure sensative pad. It lets you know what kind of arch you have and the type of shoe that would be best for the task at hand. I buy a...

Re: Too much protein?
Thanks for clairfying post Leslie! I should have been a bit more clear with instruction.... bad. I myself adhere to 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. This ends up being approximately 22 grams at each meal, given I eat 6 times a day. I cannot always adhere to the golden rule, however I do be...

Re: NEW HERE!!
Hi and welcome Hailey! I think you may know the answers to the questions you are facing. Consistency is key and the food you eat is just as important as the exercise you do. Re: Too much protein?
Active adults needs 0.8-1.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. You can use the following equation to help you:
Your weight in pounds:
divided by 2.2= weight in kilograms
Your weight in kilograms
times 0.8= protein requirement per day.

Re: Hi Im new and looking for some advice
I'm not a nutritionist by any means, but I don't think you are getting enough protein on your diet. You have to fuel the body in order to see results. You should add some protein to your first meal of the day, maybe some eggwhites with one whole egg or some slices turkey breast or chicken breast. Yo...

Re: I'm new and need support to start journey
I have gained almost 50 lbs. after pregnancies and have had a hell of a time trying to get rid of it. I don't workout because I'm tired by the end of the day. Lack of motivation is a definite factor. I really don't feel like I have the support from spouse. I would like to be able to play with kids ...

It was a nice school, small and people were super friendly. I only spent 2 years there due to finances, but it was a very good school.

Hey Lynn! I don't mind the questions at all;) I too am only competeing in sprints this summer. Like you, I am training in an 25yard pool and as I discovered 3 years ago, swimming in open water is quite different than pool water.
