sorry not a myth. not all chinese do but definitely some do. they even have it on restaurant menus. I guess when they had the olympics a lot of restaurants took it off their menus for the tourists. Pretty gross!

Why is it gross? It's an animal, no different from you or me. Besides, it's not mainstream and I just asked my Chinese religion professor and she said it was bred out of necesity and it's generally only in the far North or far South. What makes it so different to eat a dog or cat than a rabbit, or squirrel, or cow, or pig, or chicken, or turkey, or goat, or sheep, or anything else that we "Westerners" eat? It's a live and let live issue for me. If they want to, go ahead. It's not gross, no worse than what we eat.
