It is not the gold that is the problem, it is the alloying material that they use to reduce the gold from 24K to 18K or 14K is causing an alergic reaction, inflamation and (perhaps) infection.

You can get gold ear rings (and I would imagine BB rings) with surgical steel posts. They also sell anti-alergy coatings for the posts.

Your issue is probably with the copper (or zinc) and not with the gold itself. Try wearing 24K gold and see if it resolves your issues.



Actually it was 22k solid gold from Turkey brought back by my in laws but thanks for the info it's appreciated... :wink: :D :P and the funny thing is I am allergic to anything that is plated not 100% stuff. It makes me get bad rashes.. :D
