Acupuncture - have you tried it?

Post by starlet »

Hi guys,

Hope I've posted this in the right section...

Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience (good or bad) with acupuncture.

Cheers

Personally I have not, but best friend swears by it. He has utilized it for shoulder and elbow injuries.

cheers

Never tried it, but, I've done self accupressure & it relieves me of heel aches. Its based on the same theory of acupuncture, where the tip of the needles are inserted into the skin (pressure/trigger points). In case of accupressure, its the fore finger/thumb/knuckles are used to press the points. I don't use a pain killer anymore. Never do it on/near open wounds, fractures, during emergencies. It shouldn't be done immediately after a heavy meal/exercise/shower, but it can be performed before/after 30-45 min of the same. Follow it up with a glass or 2 of luke warm water 15-20 min. after accupressure, to flush out toxins from the body. Wishing u good health. :D
