some weight trianing stops your body from growing?

Post by fdylan »

im a 15 yr old boy. im 5'6. Some people say that if you lift weights, the body stops from growing...i wish to tone a little bit muscles, but also want to keep getting taller :P is that true that you'll stop from growing? also i won't go for big weights...i just want to tone muscles...so i think about doing some push-ups or weight about 10 lbs....thanks for your help

Not ture. I mean lifting too heavy could affect bones, and certainly yuou get physical issues with poor technique, but as weightlifting has the potential to release Growth Hormones, then stopping growing is highly unlikely.

Well not unless you used a Weightlifters Neck Brace, and walked around with 20+kg's hanging from your Chin 24/7.
