Is an 8 pack possible for me?

Postby BlackPhoenix » Sat Aug 15, 2009 5:20 pm

Hi, I would like to ask if it looks like I could possibly obtain an eight-pack, and If I could, would it appear below or above my current 6 (meaning, should I focus on lower or upper abs)? (I ask because many websites say that an eight-pack is genetics, and if your belly button is not on one of the creases/lines that form your abs, and mine is not, then you cannot get more than six to show.)

7 and 8 show up at the bottom of your six pack. They are lower abs. There is some argument over genetics playing a role, though I've never heard anything about the belly button being involved. Possible I misunderstood what you were saying there.

At any rate, here is an Article from Men's health on the issue, with an exercise to boot! (I've never done these, I don't know anyone who has, so it's just a suggestion. As with anything else, grain of salt and all that. Though in my experience these types of articles tend to be less bullshit than many others.)

Good luck to you, my friend. As you work to build muscle be sure to get plenty of protein to support it (:

Hi,

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but an 8 pack is normally down to your genetics. Some people genetically have 8, while others have 6.

Did you see that 300 workout on the men health and fitness page for the eight pack?

a) Pullups - 25 reps
b) Deadlifts with 135lbs - 50 reps
c) Pushups - 50 reps
d) 24-inch Box jumps - 50 reps
e) Floor wipers - 50 reps
f) Single-arm Clean-and-Press with 36lbs Kettlebell - 50 reps
g) Pullups - 25 reps

All with no rest. I am going to try it tonight.

300 workout results: completed in 38 minutes and 46 seconds. It was harder than I thought.
