Hi guys. I'm back! They finally let me out . Things got a little complicated. So, in order for them to let me go, I had to do a few "cross my heart" promises & lots of begging. Thank you for all the well wishes. I really miss my home, my bed & writing in my journal. Couldn't wait to get home & log in. Was released this afternoon, but took a "nap" when I got home & just woke up. I guess I really missed my bed . Ok, I need to get back on track ASAP! However, my body is so full of medications & a few stitches, that I have to start with baby steps :( . Thinking about starting on Monday. Just walking (recommended) to get my lungs & body back into action. They've been on vacation too long . Need to get stronger & back on track. I only have 4 months left . But for now, let me get my head straight (feel drunk all the time ) & I'm pretty sure my body will follow...

I missed you guys too! This morning I woke up & made cream of wheat. I missed it. It was heavenly. I had a big bowl. Looked out the window & it was snowing like crazy. Schools were closed. I felt a little dizzy & decided to go back to bed. Woke up 2 hours later & decided to put on the walking video. Since it starts slowly, I decided to give it a try & after 5 minutes, my head was spinning . Sat down, took a breather & started to cry. I just felt like I'm moving backwards. It didn't help the fact that I weigh myself & I'm stuck on 129 lbs . How's that possible? I ate extremely light (you know how the hospital food is) & they had me on a liquid diet for a few days...I also notice the little definition I had on my arms are not as noticeable as before. I know I have to take it easy, but it's hard. Anyways, took my 2lb weights out & started doing a little upper workout. Nothing big, just biceps, triceps, etc. Things I could do without problems. Just a start. Will try the walking again tomorrow. Hope to finish the 5 minutes without passing out . I know, one step at the time. I just want to do them a little quicker... :D

What has happened is totally reversible. It is just symptomatic of the enforced layoff. Anyone goes through that. Marathon runners taking two months off with a Calf problem. Weightlifters taking 6-8+ weeks off with a slight muscle tear. They can't come back looking and / or feeling at their best or capable of their best.

You experienced something similar, because of less activity and a diet that may have been lower calorie and coupled with the reduced caloric and Fat burn from lower activity, means you've had a minor physical setback.

You can and WILL recover okay. Don't blow this up into a big thing, because it really isn't. You had less than 3 weeks approx of a layoff. People recover from months of little to no activity to match and surpass previous physical feats.

Compared to them, you've been through a relatively innocuous layoff, which you can get over, so don't give yourself a hard time or get upset, because it will only continue to hurt you when you don't need to feel like that.

Keep doing what you can, work back up to where you were and keep looking forward. You've been through so much in your life and you're stressing now about a little deficeit in physical condition. Maybe that last bit put's things into context the most.

You're an amazing Lady. Don't let anything spoil that, because we certainly think too much to just let you do that to yourself yeah :).

Les..Thanks girl for your great energy & well wishes! I know how you felt. I was (ok, still am) a little depressed about my step backs, but I'm determined to get back in track. Just reading about what happened to you & how you came back from it stronger, makes me feel more positive. You are a very strong lady. Horray for you!! I'm going to try to be as strong as you (at least mentally).
Boss.. Thanks for your vote of confidence. I really need it. I understand what you're saying, but it's hard to start with baby steps when I was already running...you know what I mean? Anyways, I'm willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes me, to get back in track. For now, Today, I'm feeling much better. My head isn't as foggy as before, my appetite is better & I was able to walk for 5 minutes without passing out. Yes!!! I was a little off balance, but my kids say I looked kinda funny (everything is amuzing to them ). Tomorrow will be "my first challenge". Planning to do the "5 minute walk" outdoors with my family. They are not happy about it, but they know how I am (hard headed) . Hopefully, I won't pass out & make a fool out of myself . Everytime I feel the air, it makes me a little dizzy. So, that will be an interesting experience. My new goal: to walk 20 minutes by Friday. I honestly think I can do it. At least, that's what my mind is saying. Will see if my body agrees   .

Good luck. It's not easy for some people to get back into it so slowly and carefully, instead of the effort that was previous sustainable, but it keeps the mindset fresh for the achievements to come and as long as you're not overzealous and over do it, you'll be fine.

You are right Boss. It wasn't easy to get back to my walking routine. Specially today. I went outside for my 5 minute walk. I was very happy It wasn't as cold as I thought. However, the first breeze made me feel very dizzy. But, I got over it & went for a long walk. It lasted 15 minutes :D. I felt good, happy, healthy, young...I know, crazy. But true! I wanted to keep going, that's how good I felt. But my kids & hubby are a pain . I understand....They promised me will do it again tomorrow. I'm so excited! I think I'll be running pretty soon If I continue to feel as good as today. Honestly, I wanted to start running, but my body couldn't . anyways, It was an awesome day. Can't wait for tomorrow. As for my meals, getting back to my regular routine. Slowly but surely. Calories are a little low, since I'm not exercising much. Hopefully, everything will be back to normal ASAP! Can't wait... :D

Wonderful day!!! I'm sooo excited. Just came back from my loooong walk. Did it for 30 minutes! Felt awesome. We stopped cause my asthma kicked in & I didn't have the inhaler with me (I know ). My lungs are still a little weak, but I'm going to whip them back into shape . Honestly, I feel like a million bucks...ok, like a thousand bucks  Anyways, planning to do it again tomorrow & work on my arms w/ 2 lbs weights. It's already March . OMG! 3 more months....  Let me NOT freak out & remember: Baby steps, Baby steps .

mrsweb...Hi back & Thank you for reading ! Ok, today did my walking for 30 minutes again without panting (horray for me). I'm very happy. I also worked on my upper body with 2lbs weight. It was awesome because I did a few things like side punches & rotations w/ weights (haven't done it before) & found out I haven't worked some areas I I didn't think existed . Not as intense as I'm used to, but at least I'm working it . Tomorrow, will do 30 minutes but I'm adding going up a long hill (not that steep)twice :D. Very excited about that. Ok, have to go. We are starting a new round of "UNO". We are betting....M&M's (YUMM!) My kinda game . Don't worry, won't have many (I usually loose) plus they are kinda healthy...they have peanuts

Yesterday, Thursday, walked for about 1 hour. Did "incline" walking (small hill) & "speed" walking (as fast as I could :D). Felt very good. Have been eating good too. Confession: Had a mocha latte (w/ skim milk & no whip cream :( ). It was 3 x Yummy! Haven't had those in a while. I deserve it! Have been working very hard. Did my lower body (no squats yet) but used my resistance bands. Got a good work out. Have been eating lots of plums (4 - 5 / day). Are they bad if eaten frequently? Have been craving them like crazy...Not pregnant...Just in case you guys wonder . Have been drinking lots of water. Next week, planning to start my Monday with a BANG! Will try my Tae Bo video . Let's see how it goes . Well, have to go to sleep. It's 4:50 in the morning (couldn't sleep) but getting sleepy....

Plums shouldn't be, but from memory they're quite Carb rich as they have about 7.5g Carbs per Plum, so you can see what happens if you eat about 6-8 at a time, you'll be consuming 45-60g Carbs at one go.

They're reasonably low GI, but it's better to not over do them.

Thanks Boss... It's good to know about how much carbs in them. For some reason, I've been eating lots of fruits lately. From grapes, plums, tamarind & strawberries. Question: What's the difference between green grapes & purple grapes? How many of fruits servings should I eat. Not a big salad/veggie fan (only twice per day).

Friday was pretty good too. I walked for 1 hour w/ intervals & did a little tae bo. Enough to make me sweat. Today, Saturday morning, I walked for about 1 hour w/ speed intervals & incline. It was good & brutal. Changing speed every minute. Later, movie night! Very excited. Tomorrow: rest. Ok, not really. I have to clean my house & change all my curtains. Want my house to look & smell like Spring...

Don't think there's much difference, other than the amount of Antioxidents present in purple as opposed to green ones. I think purple have more.

Fruit servings, need only be 2-3 within the first 3-4 meals of the day depending on the amount of meals a day.
