Tuesday, 3/9/10
Yesterday, I took the "day off" from working out. I moved around, but nothing to help me loose weight. However, today I walked 1 mile in the morning & also worked on my upper body with the 5lbs weights. Felt awesome to be back on track! I haven't posted any pictures of my progress, but there hasn't been much progress since my "set back". However, I'll be posting some progress pictures of my arms (old ones). Hope you can see some progress.

Wednesday...Walked 2 miles & did the tae bo video completely. Yeah for me!!! It wasn't with the same intensity I always do it, but I'm getting there. Confession: Didn't notice before, but my Butt is looking good  :D :D :D. I hope it continues firming up & toning. LOOOVE IT! Will work on my lower body tomorrow. Planning to do squats, kick backs, donkey kicks & walking. I'm also doing the Kim Kardashian's butt workout . Can't wait for tomorrow...

Sunday, Feeling a little under the weather. It's been raining cats & dogs  Since I'm feeling strong enough, I'm starting my workout program tomorrow (YES!!!). Very excited. Will work on my lower body (squats and all :D) & will do the tae bo video in the evening. My meals have been OK, but trying to get back on track. Checked my weight...128lbs. I'm kinda stuck on the 128 - 129lbs. But my jeans feel a little loose :D. This is my plan: monday: lower body, Tuesday: Cardio, Wednesday: upper body, Thursday: cardio, Friday: abs & cardio. Saturday & Sunday: OFF (not really...I do all my cleaning & shopping on these days :D). For cardio day I'm planning to do different walking intervals & also do a 15 minute intense circuit training. Different kinds. I might do the jumping training one day & burpees & mountain climbers another day. Should be interesting. I'll find out how out of shape I am . But I'm willing to whip me into shape right away!!! I only have 3 more months...YIKES!!  Confession: Ok, I know is TMI (too much info) but I looked in the mirror this morning and I think my butt (ok, glutes) grew   . It looks firmer. Maybe it was my imagination or my positive thinking working miracles on me , but I LOVE IT!! I'm going to measure it tonight  . I know, I'm a bit crazy. Maybe is the meds....Loving the mirror right now :D

Monday. Started the day on the right foot (literally). Felt like jumping. Don't know, maybe the chocolate protein? I added coffee to it...Ok, It was the protein . Well, did the HIIT jumping for 15 minutes (getting used to it) & worked on my lower body. My favorite...squats!! Lifting & firming up that butt . I felt tired, but AWESOME! It's sooo GOOD to get back on track. Started my meal plan. Not as good as I want to, but trying. After dinner, I did my tae bo video. Confession: Couldn't finish. My lungs are still weak. But only had about 5 more minutes to finish. Not bad :D. My day went like this:
Pre workout: chocolate protein w/ coffee
Workout: HIIT jumping & lower body
Breakfast: Scrambled whites w/ tomatoes, ham & 1/2 cheese, 1 whole wheat toast & 1/2 cup d. coke & 1 cup of water
Lunch: 9 grain honey oat oven roasted chicken breast & LOTS of veggies (including spinach) & 1 cup of iced tea w/ lemon & 1 bottle of water (I walked about 1/2 mile to subway & 1/2 mile back )
Snack: 5 strawberries & 1 cup of water
Dinner: Small bowl of soup & 1 cup of grapes & 1 bottle of water
Workout: Tae bo video
I know, I'm working on my meals. I'm also working on drinking more water. Believe me, I'm trying. Tomorrow: Cardio. Planning to do the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred video. Will see what happens. But I'm PUMPED!

Friday (3/19), What a week! Beautiful weather but got sick again. However, it didn't stop me from following my workout schedule. Everything went as planned. Some days felt good, some felt like a pain that doesn't want to end . Did all my upper, lower & cardio as planned, but added a little running. Oh, guess what? Got a new video...ZUMBA! It's awesome. My cousin goes to a gym in Florida. They offer this Zumba class. She made a video of one of the classes and gave it to me. I did it today for the first time and had a blast! My hubby enjoyed it very much . It was so much fun, my kids made their own dance (adding some Michael Jackson moves ). Love MJ's music, but my youngest son adds his moves to EVERYTHING, even when he is getting dress . Anyways, we had fun. I also dusted off some "abs of steel" & "buns of steel"... remmember those? I confess, I have them. Guilty as charged . And I'm going to used them too. Hey, I'll use all the help I can get. My meals?? Pretty good. Messing up a little on the Mochas. I have a good excuse. Being very nauseous lately & Mochas gets rid of it. For real! Ok, have to go. It's very late & I'm BEAT! Will write soon...

Sunday (3/20), Day off! However, went for a long walk. Did the 10,000 steps & came back home to have a nice breakfast. Went to the park in the afternoon to watch my kids & hubby play soccer. Got into the action. Couldn't resist. After a little while, got winded & sat down. After they finished, we decided to have a little picnic. Ok, they had no choice. I was hungry & didn't want to wait, so I made them eat their lunch near the soccer field. They weren't crazy about the idea, but since they were hungry they had to accept . At the end, they enjoyed it. Some of their teammates joined us too :D. Afterwards, we had a long walk (loved it) & finally went home. Beautiful day! In the evening, we watched The Stepfather movie. It was good. I'm pretty happy I exercised a little & hope to do the same tomorrow. P.S. have been having a little trouble posting the pictures, but will pretty soon.

Tuesday (3/22). Ok, let me start by talking about Monday. I had a really good upper body workout. In the evening, I worked on my abs & also did the tae bo video. It was brutal! Felt like puking. I think it was the protein shake I drank before the workout. Trust me, I waited 30 minutes after I had it, but I can't have NOTHING at all in my stomach when exercising. It was worth it . I mean the workout. Today, I worked on my lower body. Need to get my legs in tip top shape. Specially my rear end :D. Loving it. Looking tighter than ever. I also notice my inner thighs need a little work. Ok, a LOT of work . When I look in the mirror, I always do it at night. This morning, the sun was directly in my way & OMG! could see stuff I haven't seen before. Very ugly site. But, I believe in myself & I'm positive things will tighten up soon. Ok, I hope it does . And I hope to do so before June. Working my butt off to make it happen. Literally! As far as my meals, having a little trouble. Have been eating more at night. In the morning, I don't feel like eating at all. But my appetite explodes after 7 pm. Right after my workout. WHY??? Have to stop those late nights munchies!!! Planning to do lots of cardio tomorrow. Have in mind: walking, Hiit jumping & a circuit training plan my son's gym teacher gave him to practice for soccer. It looks like fun. It involves jumping over an "exercise ladder" (he lend it to us), a soccer ball & a small hula hoop (to jump over). My son is planning to time our workout. He wants to do it 3 times. Honestly, I don't think will even start the second . The plan is supposed to take 15 minutes of intense cardio. Will we repeat it? I don't think so....Will see. Didn't want to burst his bubble. He is looking foward to doing it & I'm keeping his spirits up :D. He's lost a lot of weight & is looking better than ever. Loving his self esteem. :D :D :D

That's great about your son losing weight and his self esteem. It is nice to see self esteem gains on kids especially. my nephew as a kid was always a little chubby and then when he hit 14 he grew. A lot. And now he's really thinned out and its great to see him feel better about himself.

Good luck with the exercise ladder. :)

musculargirl... you are right! My youngest son has always had good self esteem. Now, after he dropped all the weight, his esteem i over the roof . Don't get me wrong, he's NOT cocky at all, but his face lits up everytime he tries a pair of jeans or a t-shirt. Before, he didn't care. When we went clothes shopping, my hubby & oldest son would try on clothes & practically "model" them in the store (they're thin) & my oldest son's: "I look very good or I should be a model" comments bothered my baby. Specially because my hubby usually agree. Now, they both look at him in awe and THAT, it's more than words to him. His eyes lit up (like a christmas tree). LOOOVE IT!!! :D. He lost the weight because I had made a few changes to his diet & because he started doing some of the workouts with me. Also, his gym teacher & I made a "secret" alliance. I asked him to give him "extra" work & he did  My son complained every day he had gym: Mom, Mr. L makes me do more pushups, more jumps & even do more laps around the court... I think he hates me." Only if he knew  . Well, now he does & he is VERY happy. He even signed up for soccer again & basketball. We are both on the workout wagon, just riding along... :D

You're doing brilliantly, so don't sweat the little things. Patience earns the rewards, that haste can seek to ruin.

Thanks guys! Ok, like I said, today was cardio day. Started by walking around 2 miles this morning. During lunch time, I walked 10,113 steps more. I did that after eating my healthy subway sandwich. I had the oven roasted chicken breast on honey oat (toasted) w/ spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, sweet peppers, little vinegar & a small dab of light mayo. Had 1/2 cup diet coke & 1/2 bottle of water. Got home & while cooking, I did my jumping (not HIIT). I did 6 minutes of it. I counted & I do about 140 jumps per minute (my boobs get in the way). I know, TMI but it's true . Need to get a better support sports bra. OMG, that is very embarrasing! Oh well...After jumping & finishing cooking, I ate my dinner: 1 cup of brown rice, chicken stew & salad. 2 hours later, I was ready to do the circuit training, when my youngest son changed plans. My hubby & 2 kids wanted to go out & play soccer. Guess who follow them? Guilty! But, I took the hula & the ladder with me . I told them they had to warm up before we start & made them do a 5 minute circuit training . They liked it. I did too. It was fun, a little confusing, but fun. To be my first time with these gadgets, I think I wasn't that bad. Then, soccer. I played for 45 minutes (it was windy & my lungs couldn't take it). They played for 2 hours. However, I did my walking while they ran around. You know, trying to burn as much calories as I can. Finally, went home & drank 1/2 a chocolate protein smoothie. YUMM! My hubby had the other 1/2. Made it with water & 1/2 banana. Now, ready to take a shower & hit the sack! I'm beat. Tomorrow, lower body. Getting my legs ready for as many squats possible...till my knees break . KIDDING! Love squats!! I also like the kickbacks. They make my butt look bigger  . Love it! :D

Thursday, Upper body workout...Checked! Lots of squats. Also did lunges. OUCH! Not good at them. Used my resistance bands for my inner & outer thigh, kick backs, side steps, squats, EVERYTHING. My legs are sore. Somebody's not going to be sitting or walking comfortably tomorrow  It's all good pain. I walked too. Did 20,000 steps. After dinner, I did my circuit training. Had to. I felt guilty for not doing it completely yesterday. It was hard & exhausting. Now I feel bad for not understanding my son's complaints . I feel so sorry for him. Anyways, my meals were good too. No diet sodas today...Yes! Tomorrow: abs & cardio. Will see what I come up with for abs. Very tired of the same old abs video. Maybe I'll hula hoop until my waist shrinks & my fat melts COMPLETELY!

Sunday, OK, haven't posted since Friday because I've been extremely busy. Friday, I did my cardio & abs workout. Since my abs video was boring me to death , I decided to try something different. A mini "HIIT abs" Every 10 count I changed to a new ab position. EX. 10 crunches, 10 plank, 10 hip raises, etc. All done quickly. It was exhausting. Of course, had to have my son screaming at me what move was next (have short memory ). There were so many, couldn't remember. Did about 15 moves & repeated the entire set twice. The next day, my abs were sore. Good pain :D. Yesterday, I thought it was going to be a breeze. I was going to do shoulder press & bicep curls in 3 sets in 3 speeds (slow, fast & half way fast) I did 20 fast shoulder press & 20 fast bicep curls, so on. Then, squats & lunges (20 each, 3 speeds) 3 sets. Afterwards, I did 500 jumps & 10 minute run. When I finished, I felt good. Not tired only sweaty. OMG! This morning, I'm sore all over. I guess doing small repetitions in different speeds really works. I've done lifting w/ weights & haven't been this sore. My butt is sore too . Anyways, have to go right now. My friend invited me to her gym. Will tell you later...

I'm back. A friend of mine (who gave me the zumba video) invited me to her gym. I had a blast! She only goes to the gym for the classes. They have kickboxing, zumba, toning, etc. She asked me to take the zumba class & trust me, she didn't have to tell me twice. Guess what song we danced to...Single Ladies. It was AWESOME! I followed along pretty good (for a newbie). I had so much fun & I was very sweaty. Couldn't get the song out of my head for a while . Afterwards, she wanted to go home & I didn't. Since I was already there, why not do some weight lifting or use the machine? Right?? So, I asked her to stay a little longer, but she said she couldn't but didn't mind me staying. So, I did. OMG! First thing, the eliptical. I was VERY sore. But I wanted to conquer it. I did 20 minutes on it. I was very happy. Then, the treadmill. I was so happy to walk for 30 minutes. It was raining all day & very windy. So, this was a bonus for me. :D :D :D Tomoroow: triceps, back, hamstrings & inner/outer thighs. Hope is sunny because I need my walk...to think, to make decisions, to exercise & to feel the air. P.S. still having problems posting pictures, hoping to get them in tomorrow. :D

No offence, but Single Ladies is an example of a song, written for fairly lazy, fake artists, that can't play instruments, or write stuff and want their all too frequently short-lived careers, spoon fed to them by certain very rich Music Moguls, who shouldn't interfere with the music industry, because their perception of what the music industry can be, is about as deluded as the belief that one day we'll have world peace and realise the once shattered, hippie 60's dream :P.

As I said, no offence .

By the way, keep up the hard work, you're doing brilliantly and you can be so proud of yourself. You're definitely a rolemodel to others in some ways. WELL DONE :) :).
