Tuesday, 4/13:
Nokie...Hi girl! How you doin"? :D. Regarding the water, when it gets hot, I drink lots of water. I don't eat enough because it makes me nauseous. Maybe is the medication? But I'm trying as hard as I can to eat plenty & clean. As for the workouts, I'm just enjoying the weather...while it lasts .
Les.. Thanks! With people like you & everyone who writes in my journal, how can I be lazy. Besides, June is creaping up on me, clock is ticking & June seems around the corner . I've been noticing my outer tighs getting firmer, but my inner are still a problem. But I'm doing everything possible to "fix" these problems.
Ok, Monday was my "day off" (  ) NOT! Had a few appointmets & decided to walk, walk, walk (started to sound like Leslie Sanson-from the walking video ). I did a total of 4 miles back & forth. Hubby says is a little more. When I got home, I was so dizzy from all the tests, I had a cup of fruits & took an hour nap. It did me good. Woke up, made dinner: Veggie lasagna & had a piece (3oz) w/ a small salad & 1 bottle of water. I also had a skinny cow chocolate sandwich ice cream (expensive but YUMM!) only 100 calories? Don't remember & it had fiber & protein? Sorry, I was half asleep . Ate & felt very tired. Was about to take a shower & call it a night, when my youngest son had the brilliant idea to do the Wii fit challenge. I had no intention of playing, but I CAN'T resist competition . I wasn't playing, but my "mini me" (cartoon that represents me) kept popping up & my son's "mini him" kept passing me. UGH! It made me mad. OK, I admit it, I NEED THERAPY!. So, we ended up playing for 1 1/2 hours. Did running for 20 minutes, bicycling (calves workout), the flying cow (shoulders & squats), skiing (thighs), dancing & hula hoop. Why? It was supposed to be my day off :(. Oh well, hopefully I burned some fat :D. Today, Tuesday, my friend invited me over her house. She needed help with some papers due tomorrow. After we finished, guess what? I jumped on the elliptical. I did 5 minutes warmup, 15 min. (no resistance), 5 min with a 5 incline (it goes to 10) & 5 min. warmdown. Can you believe it? I was shocked! Went home & prepared dinner. An hour later, I did 10 min. HIIT jumping at home (cold & windy out), worked on my lower body with weights & 5 minute run. BIG MISTAKE  : Didn't eat lunch (not hungry) & had a mocha latte w/ skim milk & no whipped cream. I know, shame on me! But life is too short....I know, excuses, excuses, excuses

Keep up the hard work and most of all, keep being proud of yourself. You deserve it. It's been a long old haul for you the past few years, but ultimately it's made you the person you are today. Inspiring, motivational and potentially becoming as beautiful on the outside, as you clearly are on the inside.

If anyone deserves the results and deserves to find true happiness from them, you do. I wanted to take a moment to tell you I'M VERY PROUD OF YOU and honest enough to tell you, how much you continue to impress, yet humble me also.

You are doing BRILLIANTLY and you ARE becoming ever more a superb female rolemodel. So WELL DONE, KEEP IT UP and THANK YOU for all your continued comments and activity. I hope we as a community can continue to give back to you, in the same wonderful way you give to us, with your personal insights and humility :).

WEDNESDAY,
Boss.. Oooooh, you are so sweet. Please don't make me cry. I'm very sensitive today. Very rough day for me. Thank God for you guys, for walking & for my youngest son who is very funny. Ok, Confession time  : (let me take a deep breath). As I mentioned before, my hubby & I had a BIG "disagreement :( " provoked my by "monster" in law. She used to visit once a year (she lives in South America) but stopped coming for the last 2 years. The problem: She has & shows preference with my oldest son (because he looks exactly like my hubby). My youngest looks exactly like me (she doesn't really like me). Anyways, she decided to make a "surprise" Easter visit  . Since she came, our lives have turned upside down. Our family has divided in 2 teams. Her, hubby & oldest son (one team) & my son & I (another)??? . How this happened??? First: we always go out together but she doesn't want to go ANYWHERE with us. She comes up with something to change our plans & ends up going out but with hubby & oldest son ONLY. Second: wants my youngest son to SERVE his oldest...WHAT?? Third: constantly criticizes my food, my workouts...EVERYTHING. So, I had a nice & calm converstion with hubby about this problem & guess what?? He didn't agree with me. We talked about it & decided to "change" back a few things to "unite" both teams. OMG! She made a big scene & made a few comments while fake crying (NO TEARS): "I'm leaving if I'm not welcome in this house", "You are my only son", "Before your father died he said you should look after me...). And then, she "fainted". But before she did, she walked a few steps to get closer to the bed & carefully dropped. My hubby & oldest son ran over her. My youngest son ran to get alcohol to "wake her up" & before he opened the bottle, she MIRACULOSLY" got up. (YES! can you believe it? didn't sit...GOT UP). She deserved an oscar. Since then, my hubby only speaks to me if necessary & hasn't given me hugs or kisses. I miss him  . If it wasn't for my youngest son, workouts & crazy schedule, I'll be VERY DEPREESED...That's why I've been working out like CRAZY. Oh well, will see how it all ends. She's not leaving until MAY  . Why me? Why now? WHY??? (let me take another deep breath). UUUFF! Ok, ENOUGH!! of this pitty party. I KNOW it will GO AWAY!! :D Let's concentrate on my workout for tomorrow: Full body & walking (of course!). Today, I walked about 5 miles (maybe more) & in the morning, lunges & squats (she complained I make too much noise when I exercise. ) Please pray for me! I'm in deep trouble, but I'll SURVIVE :D

Oh, my, I am soooooo sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. My sister has the same kind of mother-in-law and goes through the same Hell as you. And her husband tends to side with his mom because he is afraid not to. For years my sister let it get her stressed out and now she just tries to keep the peace and finds it much easier to deal with her. But yours sounds a bit worse - wow, I really feel your pain :( It's not fair for her to play favorites with the boys especially. But it sounds like you are really there for him - you're a great mom!!!!

Anyway, I hope things settle down for you - maybe now that she got her drama she will relax a bit. Keep your chin up, you're a pretty tough cookie from what I can tell :D

Oh my goodness  …. What a monster!!!!
Don’t let that lady mess up your life… you’re a stronger woman. Stand your ground!
It’s your house and you live there… So continue to workout because you are doing it for your health. But man… I must say… She does deserve an oscar! It’s sad sometimes that male can be blind… and female can totally see through other female… Faking or not! Good Luck woman… keep in mind... it’s only temporary… don’t let her know she is making your life a living hell… it’s probably an incentive for her to keep doing it!

feelin-great I do feel your sister's pain. I am trying to keep calm, cool & collected, but not really working. Trust me, I can handle stress, but not this much every day. I'm working on it though :D. By the way, thanks for reading my journal.
Nokie... You are right! I have put up with her for all these years, but enough is enough! Of course, I had a really rough night & pray very hard. I dreamt of an answer (believe or not). I put it to work this morning. I got up, as always, to do my workout. She has been complaining of the noise. My hubby hasn't notice because he sleeps like a log & she knows (that's why he believes her). This morning, before I started, I woke him up & told him if I could workout (I never ask permission), but I had a plan . He was SHOCKED that I asked him & said: why are you asking? go ahead. So, I did (I knew he was listening ). Afterwards, I took my son to school & when I came back, my hubby was getting ready when she got up too (she wakes up late) & complained she had a headache due to all the jumping around this morning. My hubby, for the first time since she came, stood up for me. I was just happy. It's not about who is right or to "win" a fight. It's all about trust. Something my hubby put aside when she came. So, I stay quiet, prepared breakfast (she never eats my food) & showered. When I came out, my hubby thank me for a "great meal" (??? I always do...) & gave me a kiss. I know he meant to say sorry. I wanted to hear it, but to me, it was enough. At lunch time, I ate a oven roasted chicken sandwich from subway w/ lots of salad. To drink, I brought my own lemonade I made. After, I walked about 1 mile. When I got home, she had cooked for everyone . I thanked her. Checked the food...Everything greasy . So, I served myself my salad, her chicken (fried) & a little white rice. Took a piece of bounty I started wiping that sucker out . Don't worry, she didn't see me. Took the skin off & ate the rest. Now, off to the park to walk off those calories :D

Mami, I think a lot of people have relatives that they have a hard time getting along with, your not the only one believe me. I have a monster aunt. I'm glad your husband is seeing your side. I was laughing when you said she pretended to faint. That's hilarious. :) If it makes you feel better, i was just thinking how the rest of april is going to be gone before you know it. Really 2 weeks left. like they say in the army suck it up and drive on. You can do it!! :)

TGIF!! By the way, love those doggie profile pictures! Very cute :D
musculargirl...Hear you loud & clear! I'm trying to suck it up...as much as I can :D. Warning: If you see things popping out of the screen when you read my journal, don't worry it's me EXPLODING!!.
Les.. Things are looking better. Keeping a positive attitude because it's Friday. This morning he invited me out for dinner (just the 2 of us :D ). But I'm anxious. My hubby said it in front of her & I feel this "eekie thing" in my stomach. Will she get one of those 3 minute "sickness "??? Oh well, to be continued...
This morning, walked 1 1/2 miles. Got home, did squats (lots of them). With & without weights & different kinds of squats. My butt is sore...love it :D. My glutes are feeling hard & a little lifted. Like it! Now, I need them to get rounder & bigger  . Ok, let me stop cause I'm choking. So far:
Workout: walked 1 1/2 miles & about 90 squats (drank 1 bottle of water)
breakfast: egg white omelette w/ mushrooms, tomatoes, ham & 1/2 slice of 1% cheese, 3 strawberries & 1/4 cup d. pepsi
snack: 1 small box of raisins w/ 1/4 cup of mixed nuts & 1 bottle of water
Lunch: not yet, but will eat 1 cup of my seafood (comes mixed in a bag) stir fry w/ spinach, green beans, zucchini, peas, carrots, red peppers & toamtoes & 1 bottle of water. YUMM! I'm using canned grilled tomatoes that comes with garlic & olive oil. I smash the tomatoes & it forms a really good paste w/ the seafood. Ok, I'm drooling all over my papers . Just in case, don't worry, I didn't put the entire liquid that comes in the can (too much olive oil). Just a teaspoon cause when I stir fry & end up covering the frying pan & all that sweat (steam) & juices of the seafood makes a nice sauce. YUMM! Drooling again . Can't wait to eat! I also have a small salad & 1 bottle of water. After, I'll walk about another mile w/ my friend. So far, she has lost 6lbs. Horray for her!!! For dinner, depends on my hubby's "surprise dinner". Hope doesn't include some sort of "hot lava chocolate cake", Or I'll be running even in my sleep trying to make those calories disappear

GOOD FOR YOU :).

Frankly why he couldn't see the divisions being caused by the MIL in beyond me. Yes she's his other, but it's his family that he lives with all the time. He should have started to see unusual partitions in the family unit within 48-72hours of them happening I feel.

So the fact you to some extent did things to divert his attention away from the "false reality", she's created and back to the real constants in all your lives, is a good thing.

He may need to be told after she's gone about how devicive she got, when he doesn't have her around to put any spin on things, but for now I think you've managed to restore some kind of balance, which you deserve and you did to some extent stick up for yourself which is your right, as it's your house and his Mother has no right to walk in and start manipulating things and it's not wrong to expect her to show some respect, for the way your domestic situation is set up.

Hopefully things continue to improve again, back to what they were. I appreciate it's not going to be easy and he will have some issues trying to deal with her, becasue she may know some of the ways to get under his skin, or expose some of his weaknesses, but if you can continue to show some resolve and a firm yet conservative approach to her misbehaviour, that allows him not to be strongly influenced when he shouldn't, you'll be fine.

You can be proud of your attitude to things and remember, that whatever she might do regards favouring one of your children, they will NEVER take sides, unless you give them a reason to, because they have the very best of you, as much as is possible and when children have that, they are extremely lucky :).

Boss... I'm also shocked with his reaction & blindness. He''s a very righteous kind of guy. We always talk if there is a problem & try to find a solution that will be good for both. But it's not happening. I think he's been abducted by aliens. At least one...his mother. . Don't know what to do. To make things worst, as I predicted, she came up with a sudden "stomach virus" ( no vomiting, fever nor diarrhea). Once again, plans cancelled. I didn't say anything, just took a deep breath & went for a long walk under the drizzling sky. Walked, walked & walked for 2 hours. Confession: Cried like a baby . It's not about going out, about who's right or wrong. It's about him changing. That makes me feel VERY sad & disappointed. It feels like I'm living with a total stranger. Anyways, the walk did me good. Felt much better, went home & found them watching a movie. Wasn't she sick? They were eating popcorn & having a good time. So, I decided to go to my room & write in my journal. Feeling very crappy, but I won't show it. Therefore, after I finish, I will shower & go bowling with my friend (who lost the weight) (kids went to the movies). Planning to wear my skinny jeans w/ high heels shoes & a nice black blouse. Let's see how he feels . I need some "me" time. I need to get rid of stress, fill myself with positive vibe, have fun, so that I can focus on my goals. Just had a great idea! I will do kickboxing tomorrow! Guess who's going to be my "motivation"???
I bet I can do the entire video without complaining . By the way, will be posting pictures on Sunday. My son is going to help me. I need to resize them? In order to fit in my profile. Hope you see changes. I'm also weighing myself tomorrow. I'm VERY nervous. Ok, have to go. Need to get my GROOVE back! ASAP!

mami, i really feel for you. I wish i could give some advice but i'm not sure what to do when you have such a manipulative mother in law. Tough situation to handle. All I can say is things usually work themselves out. Hang in there Mami! I'm glad your focusing on your workouts. I think a lot of times that is the best thing to do when you are having bad moments just to be strong and stay focused on your goals. somethimes a very hard thing to do at least for me. Looking forward to seeing the new pictures!! Its pretty easy to resize. your son should be able to do that pretty easily. :) :)

Nokie...I'm hanging . Love kickboxing! Great for my behind! New video: PILATES... Wonder what is it???
musculargirl... Thanks. Resized 2 pictures only so far. My son was having problems with the program. However, he found a new one. It's called AVATAR. Hopefully today he'll try it. He's been busy with soccer & scholastic bowl. Anyways, have to write EVERYTHING that has happened in the past few days. But, I have to go now :(. Crazy day today...

Wednesday, I'm back...Finally! It's been a roller coaster ride since Friday. As I mentioned, Friday I was supposed to go out for dinner w/ hubby but plans got cancelled. However, I went oout bowling with my cousins. My hubby wasn't happy . I had a great time & I got my hubby feeling jealous :D. On Saturday, I woke up early in the morning, walked about 3 miles (interval speeds). Came home, showered & made breakfast. I was about to go food shopping when hubby asked if he could come along . We spent the entire day & night together. I guess the "lady's night out" shook him a bit. We had a good time. The monster in law topic wasn't mentioned (thank God!). I guess she wasn't happy, cause when we got home she was sleeping...or faking it. At the restaurant, I had salmon w/ asparagus, salad & mash potatoes (about 1/2 cup). To drink: water w/ lemon. The next day (Sunday), went for a 2 mile walk & ran 1 mile. Got home & did HIIT jumping. Felt exhausted. Had a nice meal: veggie omelette w/ 1 orange & 1 whole wheat toast. Since the monster was unhappy about our "date", he took her to the mall (all day). I was happy! I stayed in my empty house (kids went to the park) & I got a lot done. Cleaning, washing clothes, rest, rest :D. I felt so good, I got the Zumba DVD out & danced the same song twice. In the evening, prepared veggie lasagna, went for a long walk, showered & off to bed. Hubby was all lovey dovey :D.
Monday, worked on my abs & upper body. Decided to start a new experiment. Eat my "dinner" in the morning, lunch stays the same & breakfast at night. Weird, right? But my first try worked. By the time I had my breakfast at night, I was so full I didn't feel like eating anything. So, continued my plan on Tuesday. My workout: lower body & abs. I also did my Tae bo video. My butt aches. Good pain, I say . Today Wednesday, It was all about cardio. I took my son's bike out for a spin & my calves, thighs, glutes & hamstrings were on FIRE! I was smoking hot! I think I heard the fire truck behind me . Just kidding! Hills were my big challenge, but I did them. I also did 3 mile walk & did 5 minutes of pilates. I was beat! My abs were sore after doing the 100's in pilates. Of course I only did 20...What can you expect? It's my first time... Tomorrow, full body. Will be using resistance band, weights (10lbs ) & circuit training w/ kids. They are getting ready for a soccer match & have asked me to "trained them". They don't know what they have gotten into. They'll be begging for Mercy .
