This is where I think alot of us get in trouble. Grabbing a danish, or a oatmeal bar, poptart...etc. as we head out the door. All of those convenient "to go" foods are loaded with preservatives, sugar, salt, etc. I think Nokie has a good point about pre-planning your meals. It does take a bit of extra time...but you have to make it a priority if you really want to make a change in your eating habits to lose weight. It's hard - but trust me, we've all gone through it and are still going through it - and we all try to help each other along the way
Recently I gave up (it was a sad day

) my favorite almond granola crunch breakfast bars. I started pre-mixing in a little sandwich baggie - 1/4 scoop of rolled oats (stopped buying the "instant" oatmeal packs), 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 pkg. Truvia sweetener, sprinkle of salt, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder. I bring it to work and cook it in the microwave - eat it at my desk. This may not work for you, but maybe pre mixing the oatmeal, then allowing an extra 10 minutes in your morning to sit down and eat a bowl.
Another thing I started doing was really paying attention to the ingredients listed on the back of the foods I was buying. It is a real eye opener when you see what you are eating (oatmeal bars, granola bars, etc.) So, I try to stay as close to natural, whole, raw, fruit, grains, as I can. It has really made a difference in how I feel and has helped me to shed more stubborn inches.
Bananas, apples, hard boiled egg, string cheese, almonds - all of those are good choices.
Stay away from "100 calorie" packs - or pre-processed foods as much as possible. You know we are going into the Holiday Season with all of its tasty temptations, so it is good that you are starting now to make healthier choices, so you will be well armed to stay on course with your diet and not let the holidays throw you off! We are all in this together! That is what I love about this site, and what I hope you will find here as you progress in your weight loss and fitness journey. Good luck to you, and welcome! Glad you are here!
