I have worked out on and off for the last 25 years. I am 53 year old male with multiple surgeries.
1996 left elbow surgery - Cubital Tunnel Release Surgery.
1998 right elbow surgery - Cubital Tunnel Release Surgery.
1998 low back surgery - laminectomy discectomy L4 – L5
(Dr. wanted to do fusion at L4- L5 but I opted not too).
C5-C6 narrowing
Plus more but it gets boring.
In April I decided to do something about my weight I was up to 260 lbs, so far I have lost 20 lbs and would like to lose another 15. My problem is I was involved in a motorcycle crash on Saturday do to a faulty rear tire. I was lucky and came away with only a much bruised right thigh, sore ribs and a grade 3 shoulder separation and road rash.
My doctor told me to get rid of the sling in a few days and start improving the range of motion in my right shoulder. I took it off when I got home and it feels better already. Anyone know how long it will be before I can start lifting again and what I should do in the mean time so I can stay some what in shape.
I never have lifted with a lot of weight since my back surgery, and walking is limited to 30 minutes do to the low back pain, any input is appreciated I don’t want to go backwards.
