WOW WOW WOW !! great leg workout yesterday !!

Postby kunathm » Thu Nov 05, 2009 10:16 am

I went with my buddy so I would be more comfy using free weights and DAMN !

the help of a friend with motivation and support is the best !

I am damn sore today and stairs are not my friend but I gotta tell you it feels great knowing I got a good workout in !

I did squats, (3x12 with 30lbs on each side) lunges,(3x12 with a 5 on each side) then deep squats (no weights cause legs were getting tired) then did calves (3x12 150lbs total), hammy's(3x12 100lbs, chins(3x12 20lbs), then single legs press (on machine 3x12 100lbs each leg) and finally leg kick backs ( I don't know what their called but it was a machine that you stood up and placed your foot on a thing that slides behind you to work your legs and butt, I did 2x12 @ 70lbs)

sore sore this morning but man it feels good !!!

Thanks for the read, I just had to share

Make sure to get a good stretch in after your workout. Light stretch before your workout.
So… you’re on a Split workout schedule?

too much buddy

all you need is a big heavy exercise (squats or deadlifts), a single leg exercise (lunge, step up), a posterior chain exercise (glute ham raise, back extension, hip thrust, rdl) and optional calves but i wouldn't bother

The advantage to this side is that you can incorporate other muscle groups too. Full body 3x a week is a great way to start. You can hit each muscle group more frequently, and bigger compound lifts that use multiple muscle groups will help economize your w/o.

I would just think a full body workout is too many things to do, what should a full body day look like ?

something sholdery/back
something tricep/chesty
something leggy, lowerbacky

So Pullups, military press, dips, chest press, squats/lunges, good mornings/deads. Bam.

Something like that. Be creative. You work each group 3x/week.
