Hey I was wondering if someone could give me tips on how to gain muscle while I burn fat. I figure a lot of you are more expert on such a subject than I am because I'm only 18. I have been working out for about four years now, but only seriously the last two years.
Currently I am doing one or two workouts a day which look something like this:
Sunday: Cardio (30 min // to exhaustion) during day
Chest and triceps at night
Monday: Shoulder workout at night
Tuesday: Cardio (30 min // to exhaustion) during afternoon
Back // bicep workout at night
Wednesday: Cardio (30 min // to exhaustion)
Thursday -- repeat previous days
I have heard that this may not be possible. If that's true I'll simply settle for keeping muscle and burning fat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try doing interval HIIT in place of your cardio. Check your diet, read the diet and nutrition forum stickies (awesome info to learn there!). Perhaps looking at changing to an upper lower split instead of a body part split so you're increasing your calorie output or even a 3 day a week full body for even more calorie burn.
