Personally, I much prefer outdoor street, trail running and find it to be more demanding on me, basically because it is not a "controlled" environment, and there is more to deal with as far as wind resistance, hilly terrain, uneven pavement - so you are constantly changing your stride, or speed or footing. Something I read about "running outdoors, versus treadmill" puts it like this:
"The treadmill is slightly different, slightly easier. On the treadmill, your foot hits the tread and pushes off, but it also "slides" backward effortlessly on the tread, as the tread moves back around. Outdoors, on the pavement, or grass, dirt, trail, etc., your legs are purely propelling you forward." But there is alot of debate over it. It really is a matter of personal preference, what you will be inspired more on a daily basis to stick with. If you are training for a 10K race, I would suggest running outdoors to better match the same conditions that you will be running on race day.
What kind of tabata interval/circuit training are you considering? If it is running based (sprints, etc.) then I would use it as one of the cardio running days. If you are just starting out, be sure to work up to this slowly, don't overdo or you could end up with shin splints, foot injuries, etc. Be sure to stretch thoroughly and slowly (make time for it) after each run or sprint session. Find a good beginner running program (tons of them online) something like "couch to 10K" that will work you up to increasing weekly mileage in the proper doses. Good luck with achieving your goal!
