Don't see anything untoward there to be honest. A little round the Obliques and Glute area is evident, but it's nothing another 2-3 months of what you have been doing, couldn't probably correct :).

So if you have been thinking negatively at all about your body image, don't, because there's a world of difference between you, and some women who practically have carpet burns on their bellies.

I can see why you are smiling, you deserve to.

Keep up the hard work, keep smiling, chin up, and hopefully the other things you've been dealing with, will sort themselves out soon enough :).

And check out those awesome shoulders! And I don't see any flab on those arms! You should be proud of what you've accomplished!

Ut oh - guess the pressure is on - now I need to post my biceps!

from what i've read you posted i had you "pictured" way worse then that but you look no where near what you think you do

you're not so far off...the contest could drop 6 - 8kgs off you which would really get your confidence up

I wanted to do the contest, but the timing for me is a bit off. I start a new job in a new state on May 18th, so my finances are all tied in moving and getting a new place to stay for now. Hoping in a couple months things are settled. I'll have to catch the next round, or just jump in without the competition.

My husband went with me to the gym today and I showed him the exercises I'd been doing...we did the same circuits, but his weights were all lower than mine since he doesn't work out but like once in a blue moon.

I don't know the official names for all of these...will try to describe as necessary. Listing my weights.

Warm up: 5 min on elliptical

A1: squat w/ 25lb db held between legs (squat back until butt touches bench) x 12
A2: reverse chin-ups on smith machine (jump up, then slowly lower self down) x 12
A3: shoulder press w/ 15 lb dbs x 15
repeat for 3 circuits

B1: hop squat on stairs w/ large kettlebell (not sure of weight...this is putting the kettlebell on a stair, hopping to squat over it, then lifting it to next step and continuing to top of short staircase, maybe 10-12 stairs)
B2: cable row 50lbs x 12 (this is cable from above pulling slightly downward)
B3: no idea what it's called, had 2 7.5 lb dbs attached to 20lb cables on the ground, then did a chest press, 3 counts down, then 1 count up to explode, works chest and that weird armpit area I can't ever seem to get... x 12
repeat for 3 circuits

Then we did an ab circuit with the wheely thing (one wheel with bars sticking out and two pedals)...did 10 times out like an ab roller, 12 x sit-ups with wheel on feet, 10 x jackknife with wheel on feet, 10 x hamstrings out and back with wheel on feet...then repeated for 2 circuits.

Then we did deadlifts and squats, 1 set of 12 each, on the bosu balls. I used the 2nd lightest kettlebell.

I think that was it. Oh, I snuck in 1 set of 12 inverted rows on smith machine after first circuit.

Then stretching.

Now cleaning the house. :P

Your hubby lifting considerably less than you. Did he feel like a bit of a shoe, when he realised how he'd let his potential slide?

Nah, I think he just appreciated the tips. He did say that today he felt like he'd ridden a horse for the first time yesterday...so guess I did a good job?

It's okay to admit you kicked hubbys ass . He'll never know. It will remain a secret between you, me, and the rest of the huddled masses on here :P.

Hi Allison - what state are you moving to? I love North Carolina and was thinking at one point in moving there, but once you have grandchildren you never want to move away :) So CT. is where I'll stay. I was extended at work, so won't be retiring until 7/1, just in time for a great summer!

My husband now goes with me to the gym in the AM - no afternoon life excuses anymore :)

Allison,

Good luck in W.V! I know you'll be very busy with moving and all - hope the move doesn't keep you away - not too long anyway.

Take Care
Lu

I'm still here. Just having trouble posting my workouts because I don't know the names of everything I'm doing. I think it would take me about 20 minutes to sit down and try to describe everything.

I am starting to incorporate the Tabata Protocol as my HIIT, which is a 5-minute warm-up light jog, then 20 secs sprint followed by 10 secs full stop x 10, then a 1-minute walking rest, then same interval series x 8, then 1-minute walking, then x 6, 1-minute walk, x 4, 1-minute walk, x 2. It's exhausting.
