Hey Patty! I'm doing Sumo Squats now! Love them and am hoping to reduce those damn thighs!

I so bummed you'll be coming to my area when I won't be here. If it were anything else but Aruba I would cancel :(

It has been forever since I posted and I am so sorry. I miss coming to the board but I have been training everyday for my fight. I was so scared i was going to come home hurt. The monday before my fight, i got kicked in the head and was knocked out. I never got kicked in the head before, or knocked out. All week long I was woozy and terrified that it would happen again.

I won first place for my kata and second for fighting. I won my first fight, the second fight was a lot tougher. The girl I fought second, only had to fight me, less than 4 minutes after my first fight. I still fought hard. It went into an overtime round where it was a split decision 3-2 in favor of the other girl :( I was so tired, as you can see in the video I posted below. Maybe exhausted is a better word. Fighting is way more tiring than sparring is. I have to build up my endurance.

I am the girl in the black headgear and orange stripe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I7av7dQjlI

Total I am down 70 pounds now. I still have to get pictures done. I am always the one behind the camera, never in front of it. I have to thank all of you on this board that have helped me with my stupid questions, or picked me up when I was feeling low. :D

Did you see the Doctor? Are you ok now? Even though you have a headgear try to block your head!
I remember I got kicked in the head by a blackbelt who couldn't aim their kicks correctly... Bam..KO then ER
Just make sure, if your head hurts or you still feel woozy... go check it out :)

Well, as far as I'm concerned I thought you landed more punches and kicks. Great job girl! The second fight was a tougher battle, but you never backed down and you gave it everything you had, even after just fighting another fight a few minutes earlier. I am so impressed with the height you get on your kicks! And the rock hard power behind them. I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of those spinning back kicks or front kicks! Wow!
Oh yeah, by the way....you look FANTASTIC!! :D
It sounds like you have a great support team encouraging you on the sidelines! "Go Patty, stick it patty! Finish her off Patty!" :D Love it! That is awesome! :D
Thanks for sharing your video with us - it is a testament to what hard work and perseverance can achieve :D

thanks you guys so much. I didn't get checked by the doctor and was worried for a while. I felt fine, other than being tired from not sleeping all week because of nerves, but my trainer said that I had been looking bad. Said that if I looked bad the day of the fight, that he was going to pull me from the fight. I am fine now. The kick to the head is all my fault. I wasn't blocking and we are supposed to kick to the head in sparring. We just don't do face kicks in sparring. We are allowed to kick to the face in tournaments. I am going to do a few more semi-contact fights, then I am going full contact. No head gear, no shin pads, no gloves. I want to do one full contact match before I am 40, so I have a year and a half to do it.

It would be rude of me to accept unneccessary apologies so I won't.

Don't worry about a thing. Keep going, keep putting the time in and WELL DONE. You CAN be proud of yourself, so don't ever sell yourself short emotionally yeah :).
