Aww... to be young...sigh  I hope it is something you never "need" to do, just something you might do for fun. I have "needed" to color my hair now for about 17 years. The older I get the less time between colorings it seems! White hair is hereditary on my Mom's side of the family, in fact my mother has the most beautiful head of white/silver hair. I haven't actually seen my true hair color in years, but from the peeks I get of the roots every 5 to 6 weeks, I would say it is about 85% white/silver. I've thought about going "all natural", and have a "Jamie Lee Curtis" type hair cut, but have resisted so far...so much stigma we ladies deal with, as far as our hair goes...it is a huge step to allow ourselves to progress to another phase in our lives - so afraid of looking "old" before our time! :D
Sorry Lu! Didn't mean to jump in your thread here to discuss my hair issues!!

Wouldn't the hula hoop be hard on the knees, with the repetitive circular motions? just wondering, I know you have been having knee issues.

I will never color mine, mainly cos I am a hairstylist & know how evil it is on your hair & when I was in my twenties, coloring those womens hair, I told myself then * I am not going to color my hair when it goes grey * its life...les what u mean more than one hoola hoop ?..You have some circus training or what ? :) Lu hope things will be better for u soon.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think mentioning getting my hair colored would elicit so many different responses -what fun! Just for the record, it was only recently that I started using permanent dye, and what I get is reverse highlights, which leaves a good portion my natural color (mostly gray) and the highlights are dark. My hairdresser has a tendency to put in a strategically placed blond streak or two, but mostly in the summer time. I have had a gray streak in my bangs since I was 16 years old, so it's always been important to leave that area natural....my hairdresser agrees :) Most people throughout my life thought I had it done that way! Ha!! While I am not a hairdresser, but I'm sure even Bonnie will agree, the products they use today are much better for your hair than years ago...and I totally agree that it's not good for your hair, more back then than now. BUT, as much as I really don't mind the gray - when I look at myself in the rear view mirror of my car and "see" my Dad - I figure it's time to get some color - :):):)

I never worked out today - I'll make up for it tomorrow by doing some Cardio and weights.

ciao!

L M A O !! That is SO funny! Yeah, while you were gone today, we have had a considerable debate on hair color - to do, or not to do. :D
Everytime I say I won't do it again, I"m like you I look in the mirror and see those white hairs peeking out and just say "noooooooo.....not yet!!!" LOL!
I may have said this before...but you know it's time to get a color done when people start staring at the top of your head instead of looking you in the eye...or worse..they will alternate back and forth..up, down, up, down..trying not (but failing miserably) to look. It's actually pretty funny.

Today

I was a bum today! Ate all the right things...but laid on the couch and read a book! Tonight we met our kids and grandkids at the pizza house (had some pizza!) and 2 light beers. It would've been easy to NOT workout, but I heard Lynne calling my name and after settling down a bit went upstairs. Thanks Lynne!

Cardio - 30 minutes on the Treadmill at 3.7 mph no incline - did 3 intervals at 6 mph.

Pull Ups - 4 x 10 with assist on the Functional Trainer (My new best friend!)
Posterior Delts - 3 x 20 Only 5 lb DB's
Incline Flyes - 3 x 10 5lb DB's
Lunges 2 x 12 5 lb DB's

A whole hellava lot better than nothing!

Once again I heard Lynne telling me to get off my butt...so, here goes:

Treadmill - 34 minutes, 3 intervals at 6.3 mph, 5 minutes really slow then 20 minutes at 3.7 mph incline 3 (tried incline again)

Deads - 75 lbs. 3 x 10
Bosu Ball Balancing and Sumo Squats ea. 3 x 10 (Balancing wasn't reps, but kind of dancing to the tunes on ball)
Shoulder Press 5 lb DB's 3 x 15 Paired with
Pull Ups 3 x 15 (with 12 Assist)
Posterior Delts 3 x 20 5lb DB's paired with
Incline Flyes - 3 x 10 5 lb DB's
Finished with Single Arm Rows 3 x 15 25 lb. DB x 2

It felt good - thought about doing some floor exercises, but need to do some errands today. Maybe later.

Have a great day!

Never had Bear - Venison yes, but no bears (yet!)

Today only had a few minutes, dentist appointment and picking up the kids at the airport. Cardio day so picked the 20 minute Sprint program:

20 minutes (Treadmill) 8 sprints/intervals for 30 secs, incline 3 at 6 mph..recovery at 3.4 mph 0 incline for 1 1/2 minutes. Not terribly demanding but what I needed today :)

Have a GREAT day!
