I had to drive a 1976 Ford LTD when I was a junior in high school for a week (my car was in the shop a lot). Whenever my boyfriend was with me he had to drive - except when I had this car. He loved laughing at me when I drove it - I was 5'4" and 103 pounds. It felt like a boat

Will - I think Lynne and I have taken over your post - :D

Lynne----totally, that was the thing back then (a couple years ago... ) V-8, 4 barrel, air shocks in the back with 60's and narrow 70's in the front, dual exhaust....ahh that good livin' man. Now its 4 banger jap jobs riding 'in the weeds with fart tubes on the back, woofs in the back seat...thump thump thump

Joc--ok, so you weren't spoiled that bad if they made you drive that "float boat" huh, my Mom had an AMC Ambassador, my sis and I learned to drive in with a 304 V8, what a boat but she'd boil the back tires...ahhh gee Mom, not sure why the tranny went...huhuh

okay...you wanna talk boats? My senior year I drove the family "hand me down". 1969 Buick Electra 225 4dr.

It would take you 2 days just to walk from the front to the back!! LOL!
My older brother once had 16 people piled into it - my next older brother wrecked it after a football game (we got it fixed) ...it was like another family member. Sad day when they sold it, I used to see it around town for a while...wanted to go up and give it a hug....but figured the family that was sitting in it would think that was weird. 8)

Love it dude.....never owned a Volvo, but a buddies parents had a Volvo station wagon, standard shift if I recall, which I thought was odd for a wagon. Do you have mostly european cars where you are, like small cars?

European and Japanese, not much American, lots of station wagons. I'm thinking about buying one of these this summer.

Sweet...amazing how "wagon's" look now, they look sporty, and stylish, back in the day they were ugly.
