So late is this response that I can't even put it in quotes - LOL

Weird planks - weird for me anyway :)

She has me holding myself up with one arm, taking the other arm and sweeping it out to the side and pointing forward beyond head and back again...does that makes sense? And of course then the other side....Hahaha! Not only weird but HARD for me to do - but I'm doing them!

I'm really starting over Lynne.....<sigh> Trying it the right way this time ;)

That' all that matters. You are doing the work. The proof is in the pudding....oh geez did I say pudding? hahaha, I meant to say the proof is in the uh...protein, as in powder.

2nd Thurs. workout:

50 jumping jacks

2 x 12 reverse fly
2 x 12 standing row

2 x 12 skull crushers
2 x12 chest press

2 x 12 chest fly
2 x 12 tricep extensions

2 x 12 squats w/overhead press
2 x 12 x 2 step ups

1 x 12 wide stance pushups
1 x 12 wide stance pushups w/mountain climber

1 x 12 stab. ball hip thrusts
1 x 5 stab. ball hip thrusts on one leg w/alt. leg extensions (very hard to balance - great for core, gluts, quads, really felt the burn)
2 x 12 stab. ball knee tuck

sorry for all the edits....I kind of changed things as i went along.

2 x 1 min. planks

Thanks Lu! Ya think? Maybe I will someday. :)

This mornings workout:

31 minutes elliptical
9 min. w/u
11 intervals @ 1 min. fast / 1 min. slow

1 x 12 captain's chair extended leg raises
1 x 10 captain's chair bent leg w/rotation

weight still 164. :? :roll:short term goal of 160 still elusive....must work harder....make more changes.....it's me against 4 measly pounds....I MUST WIN. Next Friday's number will be lower. And just like Rameses said in "The Ten Commandents" movie - "So let it be written....SO LET IT BE DONE!"

Quick do a poo, weigh yourself and quickly post the new weight .

Okay that weight will start to come back about 1 hour after your next meal, but hey you'll lose it again, so it's all good.

At least you'll have a bit of weight loss in the mean time to tide you over, until you can lose some proper weight again :P.

Rest Day today.

Will be having lunch out with friends. I feel confident I will be able to order something healthy and stay on track. Planning a long run tomorrow and I know that what I eat today is important to have a good run. I'm really into salads here lately.

Have a great Saturday everyone. :D

Day before run I ate complex carbohydrates with each meal except after dinner. Then got up had eggs & toast( silver hills squirrel bread ). Couple hours later I ate usual 2/3 cup of oatmeal & shake, seemed to last the whole run.

I had to look this up - never heard of it. Unfortunately they don't sell it in area of Texas.
I've been using Mrs. Bairds Sugar free Whole Grain Wheat. 1 slice: 70 calories / 1 g. fat / 12 g. carbs / 3 g. protein.

Todays workout:

5.3 mile early a.m. run
Easy pace training run. Felt awesome, in the zone. :D
Training Week 1 - DONE!!
15 more to go!

tomorrow is strength training. I will be going to the gym as opposed to the at home resistance bands workouts I've been doing. For some reason using the bands aggravates that elbow injury in right arm - using DB's so far has not bothered it, so it's off to the gym for me! Can't wait!!!! :D :D

I don't know anything about bands. To me though using DB requires resistance against gravity, more coordination. Not sure how one would gauge the exact amount of force output with bands ? Sprouted grain breads are recommended if you can find those. Mine are sweetened with raisins for sugar. Glad you had a good run :)

Exactly. I That's what I don't like about them. Much prefer DB's.

Todays workout:

20 minutes Elliptical - moderate to fast pace - kept it at 160 to 180 rpm.

2 x 12 x 2 x 15lb DBs Bent rows
1 x 12 x 12lb DB squat (2 DB's)

2 x 12 x 12lb DB squat w/military press - LOVE THIS
2 x 12 x 2 x 12lb DB tri cep kickbacks

2 x 12 x 2 x 12lb DB Front moving lunges
2 x 12 x 2 x 12lb DB preacher curls

2 x 12 stab. ball knee tucks

I couldn't get brain in motion this a.m. I need to bring a list of things to do. I hope I covered all the major bases. I don't think I worked back muscles enough.
Still can't do pullups with arm the way it is.
Is there anything else I could have done, or done without in this workout? Feel free to dive in and dissect - I'm ready. :?
Heartrate was up the entire workout - took no breaks.

Today's workout:

Indoor track Speedwork:
approx. 19 laps make a mile, so one lap is approx. 84 yds.

8 min. w/u jog
Sprints:
4 x 84 yds
23 seconds/19 sec/18 sec/19 sec.

4 x 168 yds
44 sec/43 sec/42 sec/39 sec. :D

slow jog then stretch

Not really liking the indoor track for sprints. It's too short, I'm no sooner into a full sprint when I come to a corner. I know I can have faster times on a reg. outdoor track. Next week will be outdoors.
Times are a bit slower than what I know I can do, but hey, ya gotta start somewhere. As this weight comes off the times will go down...so there's no where to go but down!

Rest day yesterday.

Today's a.m. workout:

4.5 mile sunrise run.
I am never disappointed when I run in the morning and am witness to the start of another day. Beautiful sunrise this morning - just seeing that makes the early start worth it. :D
