4.5 tempo run. Moderate to fast pace - felt fantastic! Felt like I could have run forever. Love that feeling.

thanks Becky! I just want anyone who stumbles across my journal to know that age doesn't have to be a factor in fitness - the possibilities for your life don't have an age limit on them. You may not do them as fast or as well as you could in your twenties but - whatever!musculArgirl2 wrote:I think your a great example Lynne of what a 50 year old person should be like!

4.5 miles. 3.5 miles of hard hill running - finished at my fastest time this week.1 mile cooldown fast walk. Stretching.
Ran with a friend of mine who is encouraging me to go ahead and do the full marathon in April. She's said I'm ready - my training miles are where they need to be and she said she would train with me - AND run it with me. She said "no time like the present, whad'ya waiting for?" She has 2 marathons and a ultra 30 mile run under her belt. It made me feel really good that she is confident in my ability and believes I can do it. Now if I could just have that same belief! She asked me what was holding me back...and I told her "honestly, it's just fear" Afraid to try and fail, afraid I won't be able to do it. She said "well, if you don't try, you'll NEVER know" - she always has a good answer and isn't willing to let me give up on my goal. It's good to have a friend like that.
thanks Boss Man!! I know you are not big on running and are more weight lifting oriented, so your support means so much!Boss Man wrote:The other person assured you of your current capability based on their capability in the past, so I'd say go with the situation and then take on the Marathon.
