Thanks Athene!

Todays workout:

8 mile run. STeady pace. Felt good.

Pretty tired all week, think I was not over that 14 mile run on Sunday til about Thursday. Ran a couple of times during the week.

Have had a change of plans. Will only be doing the 1/2 marathon instead of the full in April. Lots of reasons, but it just isn't the right time now. Was pretty bummed about it, but mostly because i didn't want to let down my training coach or my running friends who were all excited for me. It was a personal decision - but one I have accepted.
I've already formulated a new 7 week 1/2 marathon training program complete with 2 days of gym/strength training. I"m excited to get back in the gym starting Monday. :D
I think this could be the best 1/2 marathon I've ever ran seeing how i am in such better shape than in previous years and I have 7 weeks to prepare. I can already run the distance so now it's just matter of improving performance. :D

My 10 yr. old niece called me and asked me if she could come over and let me teach her how to play basketball and she wanted to run with me. :D How sweet is that? She did come over and we shot some hoops and I taught her the basics. Didn't get to run together, but maybe one day soon. Nice she is showing an interest in sports. My sister has never shown an interest in anything remotely athletic - she tells me all the time that I got all the athletic genes, and there weren't any left by the time she came along. But we said there must have been a few left since her daughter wants to be like her "Aunt Lynne"

Woo Hoo Lynne! Loose pants is where it's at! You're looking great, keep up the good work - it keeps US motivated! :) Your comment about getting out of the 150's is such a great goal! Now that I'm on Weight Watchers I remember getting down to 149 and thought, why is my target now 160?? Why not 150? Oh well...baby steps...I lost more this week....ok, the race is on - you are in the lead, I'm aiming for 160, you are looking at less than 150....go girl! I know you can do it! I'll be right "behind" you! Someone has to be at the bottom holding everyone up! ;)

Be proud of yourself for your choices and how you influence others and obviously you had to make a difficult decision, but at least your plan B wasn't oh well never mind, o skeep pushing and keep believing :).

I know you can do well in your 1/2, because you always do well when you run and I'm proud of you for what you are contributing to yours and other peoples lives :).

Hi guys, i'm still here...working hard as always.

Last week I ran on Monday, had a terrible run. Really had to fight those negatives thoughts trying to creep in and get me down.
Thursday I did HIIT treadmill, 4 x 400 repeats and 4 x 800 repeats - felt a bit better about that workout. :D in between repeats I did squats and pushups.
Today (Saturday) I ran 10 miles - slow, steady endurance run. Felt good, but my legs are tired.

Today, I bought a 10 DVD set called Supreme 90 days system (total impulse buy, but whatever) . It is a similar version of p90x. I got it on clearance at a Sports store for $9.99!!!! It has a daily chart showing which workout dvd to do for that day, mixing up upper and lower, tabata, stability ball, etc workouts - each day a different area. It also has a shopping guide of foods to buy, and a 90 day meal planner with recipes too. It looks really promising and I'm excited to add it to my 1/2 marathon training, hoping to give me that little extra kick I've been needing to do more strength/cross training.
woo hoo!! Maybe it will help me get past this plateau I've been stuck on for a while - I want out of the 150's!!!!! 149 here I come!!!

9.99 is much cheaper than p90x!! so if it works and you like it a great deal and savings! Let us know how you like it. I did a quick you tube search of it and if i was watching the right one it looked hard!! You will definitely get a workout with it. Good luck!

I researched to see if it is comparable to p90x and so far what I have read is that it is.
http://www.weightloss-hq.biz/exercise-r ... -p90x.html

"The Supreme 90 Day Workout and P90X are very similar. They provide similar results. They both use muscle confusion to provide quick results in just 90 days. The main differences between the two are the price, some of the exercises styles, the amount of DVDs and the equipment needed. Otherwise, it appears at this time that both DVD home workout programs provide excellent results for transforming your body in just 90 days."

So for $10 I think I got a great deal and I can't wait to try it!!
I will definitely let you guys know how it goes.

Started my 90 day program Monday.

I put the dvd in...all pumped up and ready to go - and within 3 minutes of the warmup I was thinking "my gosh, I can't even make it thru the freakin' warmup!!"
But I did and only had time to do 1/2 the workout. Plank twists (love) and bent over rows, bicycle crunches, stability ball chest press (dumbbell weights) decline pushups, pushups with db rows, stability ball chest "ups" (lay on your stomach on the ball and put your hands clasped behind your head and raise up backwards)

This morning I did the whole warmup, and workout. I like it but I need to get some heavier db weights.
This evening I did 2 miles on the treadmill, intervals. Having some knee pain across the top of my knee. Old injury Chondra malacia patella. Wearing a knee brace and knee strap to help support the knee cap - it seems to help.

Glad you are liking it! I know the video i saw it definitely looked hard. I still think that is such a great deal. I would definitely have bought that than p90x if i had known about it.

Have you done two different dvd's than or the same one both days?

Hope your knee feels better. :)
