Wednesday's workout:

1 mile elliptical / 2 miles indoor track
did not have a good run, felt awkward, clumsy.
Did not want to end my training on that, but oh well - it was what it was..

2 sets of 20 pushups
2 pullups (3/4 of the way up - almost there!!!!)

No more runs before the 1/2 marathon. Gahhhh! It's only 2 days away!!

Good luck in your race!
Your training log is looking fantastic.

I agreed to run a leg in the Police Service Half Marathon in a couple of weeks with a friend today...and it's mostly your fault for inspiring it  It's 10 k, which I've never EVER done in my life. In typical CrossFit fashion, my friend and I are not going to train for it by running, we're just going to keep doing our mixed up training, then do the race as our Workout of the Day, on the day, and just see what happens. I should take a before and after shot and send it to you, it's not going to be graceful, that's for sure! Thanks for the inspiration, running bunny ;)

well with only a few weeks til the race you wouldn't get much training done - but you are in good shape, strong, young - you should be fine. You have running shoes?

Your very welcome. 8)

Tomorrow is the big day!! 7 a.m. I will be running my 1st half marathon in over 4 years! Woo Hoo! I'm nervous, scared, excited all rolled into one. I'm hoping all this nervous energy, will help give me some strength in the last miles. It's an "out and back" course which I like, because once you get to the turn around, you know you are on the downside of it, just gotta get back across the ground you just covered. Plus I will be able to see my friends when we pass each other either coming or going.
Gonna eat a sweet potato and baked chicken breast for dinner. Oatmeal 1 1/2 hrs before race, banana 30 minutes before race and gu gel. Then a gu gel at 3 miles, 6 miles and 9 miles, plus plenty of water and gatorade at most every water stop.

13.1 DONE!
Hardest race I have ever done. It was hot, humid and winds up to 35 mph - brutal! I got a bad case of leg cramps starting about mile 8 and continued to the end. Thought I might not make it, but I just kept moving forward visualizing the phrase "RELENTLESS FORWARD MOTION!" saying it out loud more than once! Definitely did not set any PR's today - I was just glad to finish.

Thanks guys! After that one, I needed to take a break. :? I could barely walk for 2 days. Even my abs were sore!
Think I'll stick to 5k and 10ks for a while - once again I was reminded I'm really not and never have been a distance kind of gal.

I took it easy this past week. Ran Tuesday - did some 200 meter repeats. And Thursday I ran 3 miles VERY slowly. I could still feel how tired and sore my body was.

Hope to get back on track starting Monday.

Thanks Nokie. :D

Pulled a hamstring this morning during speedwork. I feel like giving up! But I know I won't. I'll figure out a way around it....a few weeks at the gym doing elliptical and pool laps, strength training should be a welcome change - the road has beat me up pretty bad these last few months. :|

Nice workout. Can you do 10 Push Ups in a row without resting?
