Chrons, is an inflammatory bowel Disorder, (IBD), it is something that can be painful, cause blood in the stools and affect weight so I believe. Though Wheat is advised against, it's not contradindicated 100%, as there's no established direct link to Wheat and flare-ups.

Regards training someone with Chrons, I don't see this as a major stumbling block, but medical approval should be sought first, though I'm sure that will not be a problem for the person.

Chrons is not as bad as something like Coeliacs or Ulcerative Colitis. They sometimes require things like an Illiectomy where part of the Ileum is removed and the two ends attached, or a Colorectomy, where the same thing is done to the Colon.

Another thing is the Iliostomy, where a bag that drains fliuid through the abdomen is used.

I'm 95% certain Chrons people don't require such things. If the individual had the Iliostomy bag, training would a no-no. If it was a case of having had some kind of "ectomy" procedure, providing the two adjoined sections of digestive tract, had been properly closed off and healed, training someone should be fine I feel, but again medical approval would have to be sought.

Visa vie the wheat thing. Chrons people are not good with Gluten, so any dietary suggestions like Rice or Bread, or Whole-grain Cereals, would have to come with the caveat of Gluten free, though the individual should be well aware of such things, unless you suggested something they were not familiar with like, Quinoa, Triticale, Spelt or other less commonly consumed cereals.

Though I do know something like Teff is Gluten free, so that's okay.

Todays Workout

Pull ups
2 x 8/7
with
Squats
3 x 8 x 115lb

Upright row
3 x 8 x 17.5lb
with
Dead lifts
3 x 5 x 125lb

Chest press on ball
3 x 10 x 22.5lb
with
One arm row
3 x 8 x 40lb

Seated row

1 x 8 x 35lb

Supine DBL leg drop with ab curl
3 x 10

Plank
2 x 1min

Side plank
2 x 30 secs

My watch was in my bag, in a locker in a separate room, so counted slow on those planks.I saw a man who runs the gym, training a woman on lat pull downs & letting her extend way beyond the proper range of motion.I hope as a trainer I don't get bored or complacent enough to let people injure themselves. The seated row was set up strangely, when pulled back it came to the lower abs instead of chest area, which changes the angle, so less weight, the seat was elevated above the handle by quite a considerable distance.

Todays workout

Treadmill 20 mins.

Used the tiny treadmill at my moms physio place, second hand smoke for the last 4 days has taken its toll.Had an ice cream cone yesterday, not about to repeat that anytime soon, not sure why I keep thinking my body will accept such things, took hours & a plate of protein & vegetables before I felt okay.Today is a cheat meal, last day here SO I had, pork roast, scalloped potato with cheese, corn on the cob with butter, apple pie & ice cream..enjoyed every bite too, back on the bus tomorrow & home to normality :) Will be concentrating on raising my protein level intake am short about 20 g per day.Redoing my workouts, I just kind of wing it lately, think I missed out my push ups last week.Thursday will be weights day, due to bus trip :)

This morning I had NO appetite, which makes me even more curious as to how the body works when you put different foods in.I had to force myself to eat my second meal. Les being a pharmacist blew my mind with coolness, knowledge is of the body & how it works is well fascinating to say the least. My mother shocked me today..when I said that I can't believe her neighbour said to me at dinner the last night " its good to see you eat real food ".Is he KIDDING ?!! My mom who just recently survived bankruptcy after feeding me for a week said to him " Oh NO, she eats more than anyone I know " though she admitted to me when she saw my recent pictures & these were her exact words..You looked " anorexic " except for your legs, clearly she no longer thinks that. I hope the people I train don't have the impression I don't eat.Back to my gym & training the remaining 15 clients & opening up my new book which arrived while I was out of town ! :)

My mom found those hand blenders on sale so now my shakes are not lumpy or stuck to the bottom of the cup..YAY.Had 2 tiny peaches ( off her peach tree )with the shake, not sure why whoever made peaches felt the need to put FUZZY skin on them ? Not sure where that pound I gained would be found, measurements are the same.I think 110 will be the weight to aim for.Trying to figure out what type of protein to add to my diet, to make up the approximately 20 g per day shortfall. That workout is what I like to call a " it feels good to be in the gym " soreness workout, not sure about being glad to be back in my messy house, but glad to be back in MY gym for sure.Recruited about 4 people for programs starting tomorrow.A guy who has known me since the day I started my journey asked me to make a business card he can pass on to his friends & customers. He has a wing shop in the affluent end of the city.I haven't even made a resume yet, suppose I should busy myself doing both, have a great day everyone ! :)

That is so funny, and kinda sad - that people have begun to think of natural, un processed food as not "real". I'm sure he was just trying to be funny. It was nice that your mom stuck up for you, and that she now understands your fitness level is not "anorexic". You have to remember that most of the public, even thin people, don't have the lean, cut look that you have attained, and so to the untrained eye it can be mistaken for being too skinny. You have a huge chance in your new career to educate people on the difference between being "skinny fat" and lean & muscular, and why it is so much healthier to be lean and muscular. :D

I think it was because his sister in law is on a permanent " low carb diet " & my mom might have talked about me to them, when I was on that carb cut.

I must admit when I first saw my cousin (the one who runs 6 miles a day) after many years my first reaction was that she might be anorexic but she's in GREAT shape, lean and mean and she eats like a horse! You really need to feed your body when you work it so hard. Great Job Bonnie, you look great - glad Mom supported and defended you :)

Todays Workout

HIIT elliptical resistance level 11

3 intervals 30/90 seconds..
3 mins to rid the legs of acid then..
20 minutes of SS HR is the low 150's I think..

I have come to the conclusion that my footing on that elliptical over the last year has contributed to the muscle imbalance.I am now trying to keep my feet level across & it is uncomfortable.Right leg was always forward by at least 4 inches.

Damn good thing I have a drawer with those jeans that you fit in your twenties & hang onto.I went to the dryer to grab some pants for work & it was WET  So into the drawer of those jeans I dove, instead of missing a shift of work..well that erkle dude with his pants under his armpits had nothing on me..thank goodness for long t-shirts. I now hate high waisted pants, boo hiss, out they are going to go ! I am NOT sure I will be in this course or next months, due to the fact I`m way behind on my free programs. My mother did not tell me her gym was closed till the day I arrived, she knew I`d probably not show up if she told me earlier.I keep enlisting people, have booked people for the next 4 days & hope to use one of my classmates & even my sons to fill out the gap.For the last 2 years I have been trying to find out what in this house has been making my family sick, me mostly. The city inspector had me convinced it was all in my head last february..THEN I went to my moms..felt great there..came back into THIS house & within 24 hours, had my sinusitis, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, depression about the lack of energy..so now I`m 100 % sure they need to check for mold.It is distressing to be this healthy & know I`m being poisoned in my own home.In the last 3 years I`ve gotten asthma, chronic sinus infections, fatigue, immune system failure to the point of transfusions, hair loss.My sons only have the hair loss & fatigue thus far.I hope to be able to be healthy soon, even if it means moving.Tomorrow is a weights day YAY..love weight days..then I am training a lady & hope to snag a few more while I`m there :) Have a good weekend everyone !

oh, don't tell me they had those awful pleats in the front too? I used to wear some of those, course back then I had a tiny waist and thought I looked HOT. lol!!
My favs were not the high waisted kind, but some Levi 5o1's I had that were acid washed with holes in the knees..now THAT was hot! oh, how I miss the eighties... 8)

wow Bonnie, that's awful, and it does sound like you may have some mold issues, especially since you didn't feel any of those things when you were away at your Mom's.

Whoa!! That is a HUGE problem - I'd call the local bureau of health, health department - or whatever the equivalent would be. You need to get that remedied stat!

Oh no no, not pleats..they were levi's from almost exactly 20 years back, the only thing that did fit was the waist & those oh so narrow part by the feet.

Yeah I've contacted the inspectors again.I think these carpets may need to be removed. The last two years I've listened to the usual BS about women in their forties, hormonal, hair loss, blah blah. All the doctors & inspectors were male. They even blamed both my sons hair loss on hormonal issues. This is social housing so they are not overly keen on investigating.
