Keep on doing what you're doing that's the main thing. You can be proud of yourself and we are proud of you too. You're proving to be more than people might have considered you to be and you are a wonderful young Lady as well and it's great to see people who deserve to be happy, finding it in whatever ways possible.

Woo hooo! Guess what! I jogged 1.25 miles tonite! I was really tired at work but I noticed as I was on v-vay I put on weight! My work pants were tight and no way will I go back 2 a 16 when I worked so hard for that 14. So when I mentioned to my bf that I wanted to jog he rode his bike with me. He said he wants to start exercising again since he's done with school. He helped push me to run some more. It was great! I honestly never pictured myself doing this. I was so scared bc last summer I couldn't even run around the block. I am truely amazed!

Congratulations on the distance. That is really nice that you have a friend to motivate you like that and go with you the distance! I've been walking or run/walking, not to much running the whole time, may have to try it!

i usually start it will the jog then walk another 2miles afterwords. i was never the running type but i tell u what, i'm so happy i can finally do it! its a great feeling! what keeps me going, is i look at the ground so i dont feel so overwhelmed. i do some stretching b4 and after so i dont start to cramp up while running.

Be proud of yourself, but most importantly don't stop using the little positives to make a big positive :).

Time to brag again!

Postby rockchick_82808 » Sat May 29, 2010 11:13 pm

ok, just so everyone knows, i take the same route every time i jog. its just under 3miles. i always jog that first mile with no stops. then walk the rest with a couple of jog spurts once i catch my breath. the last time i jogged/walked it took me around 58min to finish. tonite...i actually RAN the first mile. my bf was behind me on his bike and said i was haulin ass. lol i checked my watch took me 12min! the rest of the stretch i jogged a lot more than i have before. my time tonite...was..drum roll.........39 min! woo woo! holla! lmao.

so much this past year that has been helpin me push harder were the following:
this site of course. everyone i've met and always encouraging me. i appreciate it all!
my bf for being by my side and helping me beat them ice cream urges. lol
my friends for goin to the parks with me.
and my roll model...ashley from the biggest loser.

now i know the biggest loser is insane and they practically kill them self's. I'm not looking to do that. I find it inspiring how they over come the hardest challenges. she really inspired me. when i saw that even when she fell off that treadmill she got back on. she helped me over come that fear of jogging. i never thought i could do it. after seeing her do it...i was thinking about it ever since. and after seeing how far she had come..i knew i could start.

then not to mention daris how he ran that marathon in 4hrs was amazing. i dont care how long it will take me to get there but i now found a new goal. to improve my time at the 3mile jog. what i like about this is it takes my mind off the weight loss and worrying about how it constantly fluctuates. this way i can take pride in how far im coming. regardless if i loose this weight or not, i will know that i'm becoming healthier. thin doesnt always mean healthy. it was like when i took my friend on a 6mile walk and i ended up carrying her. shes 5'8'' at 140 and i'm 5'8'' at 223. i couldnt believe how out of shape she is and how many times we had to stop. i felt so sorry for her. at the same time it showed me how lucky i am to be where i am today. and to not be ashamed by my body any more. i couldnt be any more thankful.

I think my 3 mile jog takes about 25 to 30 minutes & I started the same way you have, jog till I couldn't, then walk, then jog etc.Keep going :)

You are becoming a rolemodel too, because you are proving that it is possible to change a body like yours without stupid surgeries, creams dumbass pills and other unnecessary things.

I continue to feel pride for you, because you're such a warm and wonderful person and i'm glad that slowly but sure you will continue to let more of that warmth and beauty shine through and let yourself become more of the person you deserve to be physically.

The best thing you are doing is yourself proud, by not giving up and not letting occasional fruustrations dictate your attitude to things. Mentally and emotionally, I think you're in a very strong place, which is vital for achievement of sustained physical progress. If one of those doesn't come up to muster, the symbiosis of the mental, emotional and physical, is difficult to achieve.

You can be proud of yourself, in a way that others like me are proud of you.

You have been here now for over 10 months. I've seen physical change in you. I've seen progress and I've seen someone who is coming out of themselves more and seeing the physical potential they possess and if it means you being able to show off that superb smile more often, then it is worth it for that alone.

WELL DONE and keep on keeping on. You deserve to feel great things week by week, because your consistency and dedication are superb and that's why you are slowly making what you do, count for a lot.

I can't wait for you to come here, hopefully on July 21st 2010 and tell us where you are at, exactly one year since joining.

I'm really happy for you and I am wishing you a lot of luck and best wishes continuing to make progress.

So hold your head high, chin up and you keep working hard at this. It IS working and you CAN be proud of yourself.

You're pretty amazing :) :).

thank u very much boss man. i can't believe its been 10months already! i'll mark it on my calender for the 21st of july. i cant wait to go over my old posts and my workout binder to see the changes. i never thought people would look at me as a role model. it feels amazing to hear that. :)

tonite i forced myself to jog even tho- i thought i had no energy not to mention i just bought a new pair of shoes and had to carry a back pack for the first time bc my bf wasnt able to come with me. so i decided to take a shorter route and do to miles. i surprised myself how well i did. after i calculated it...it was only 1min more per mile then normal. not bad, not bad at all.

today at work i had some free time a read an article in the runners magazine and there was a man at 5'9'' and 290lbs. when he started the treadmill he was only able to do mins a day like 6,7,9..and worked his way up slow. in fact, his first day at the gym he joined he puked on the treadmill and on the lady next to him, yet...he worked up the nerve to go back the next day! i couldnt believe that. that was courage. idk if i myself could of done that.

after reading that i realized exactly how lucky i am and how far i have come myself. also how much more i am capable of. i CAN jog everyday. i may not be able to do long distances everyday but i can push myself and not get discouraged. its always been in me i was just always scared. i hid behind running by weight lifting. i new i was strong so stuck with it. i wanted to challenge myself more now and ended up with a great reward! I cant wait to see how i do this month. i have to have a good picture for july. lol.

I read that article too! Very good. I like to read runner world's motivational stories among others too. That would have been hard your right going the next day after you puke all over someone's shoe! :) Your doing really awesome. I wish i had you around to get my butt running more. :) Maybe you should try to train for a 5k this summer. A lot of people just walk 5ks too so you could run as far as you can and then run/walk the rest or just walk the rest. It might be a fun thing to do and a great goal to have. 5k's are a little over 3 miles. Just a thought. I may pick one out and try to do that myself. I wanted to do a 10k but i didn't stick with the training so maybe a 5k would be better for me as well. Your doing really great. I know your motivating me to get running more too!

Postby rockchick_82808 » Tue Jun 01, 2010 8:00 pm

I was just officially invited to go to the Bahamas with my bf and his family in November! now i most definitely have a goal to strive for. as long as i reach my size 12 i will be extremely happy! omg i cant wait. oh ya....i wont feel sluggish about working out now! lol Don't worry i wont get crazy and injure myself or anything stupid. lol i wont go all starvation or nothing. i'm just finally pushing my self at watching what i eat. no more icecream (bc the bahamas has a ben and jerrys creamery. so it will be my reward. lol) more fruits and veggies...just getting healthy.

p.s. i ran a mile in only 10min today! gee...wonder y. lol. i feel great! good thing i already dropped two dress sizes last year. lol
