Dear Diary:

Tuesday was Tuesday: "Lazy". Twas lovely. I fell asleep at 8 and woke up at 6 the next day, only to take a nap around 7. That was neat.

Yesterday was Wednesday: "Jump day".

Ran errands on bike (meet dad for lunch, picked up nail clippers for Wigs). Ended up going 2.4, 1.3 and 3.3 miles, for a grand total of 7 miles on the bike. Very nice! I've been thinking about buying my own but I'd rather lay down that kind of green on something more dangerous and motorized. For now, the pilfered bieks are fine, but they are cruisers and I like roadbikes better. Also they are free.

Someone was in my spot! She was doing yoga and breathing evenly and calmly, and I figured my hopping around behind like an overcaffienated jumping bean wouldnt help any, so I ran until she finished. (10 minutes, cycling through 3.8 walks, 6.0 and 7.5 runs at will). So I only did

3x
10 box jumps (height has increased! yay!)
Jump ropes:
106, 106
188, 87
107, 90 (I didn't count the 90 because I consciously stopped, didn't trip)

Maximum Jumps: 188
Minimum Jumps: 87
Average Jumps: 119 standard deviation of 40

Time: 9 minutes

After, I went and did the elliptical for 21 minutes on random. I think I have too much energy on Jump day now. I probably should try out the gymnastics class next week. That should take care of that problem. Plus, Em watched my vertical jumps and reckons I probably have the height for a backflip. I think that would also help with my basketball game (: Happy Thursday!

Speaking of Thursday: Upper.

Went on break today, to a crappy gym I don't like (the water fountain is hidden in the back and the machines are crammed into a tiny space!) Shrugs w front/lateral raises, db chest press (went up!) w overhead tricep extension, lat pulldowns (went up!), dips, pullups (both increased by 1 rep, military press.

21 minutes elliptical, intensity intervals. Fun! No, I really don't like the elliptical but I toughed it out because I'm just that tough.

Yesterday was the start of my 5th week on this split. My legs are really starting to look awesome, which I noticed as I was picking up plates for my shrugs (: I attribute this to my recently aquired passion for not skimping out on legs because they are boring. Actually they aren't that boring anymore. I'm really liking my upper/lower. So yay!

Dear Diary:

Today is Friday: Lower.

Went well, was fun. Ran. Was hard. Ended up working until about 330 (thought I was going to be home around 1), so I didn't get in a bike ride. I need to go pick up some lights for it. It is getting dark earlier, and with daylight savings coming up I'm going to need it if I plan to be out past 530.

Dear Diary:

Today is Saturday: Differently Productive.

Went to the bikeshop to get some lights and look at a few bikes. Went to purchase the lights, and realized I'd brought six dollars and no credit cards. Yay. Then I went to the library to pay my fine (25 cents) and get a few books. Realized I didn't have my card, and I couldn't even pay my fine. So I rode home and on my way I found a Green Market. Bought a Peach and some green beans to share w Wiggles.

Ride was 4.4 miles (went a really roudabout way to get to the bike shop), 1.1 to the library, and 2.1 home, for a total of 7.6. Kind of a lazy day, I guess, but I did a lot of anatomy hw so that's a plus.

Dear Diary:

Today is Sunday: Maniac driver Day.

Went 5.5 miles to target (6 miles home, took a scenic route - total 11.5mi) to pick up after-halloween-sale costumes for Wiggles. Got three. A Pharaoh, a Jester and a Chicken. I'll let you know how that works out. Then, on my way home, crossing a crosswalk (at which I had a picture of a guy crossing the street, which I took to mean "Hi! You can safely cross now!"), I got hit by some moron in a Honda Van. She was talking on the phone and looking, quite obviously, not in my direction (directly in front of her). I *think* she was checking oncoming traffic to make a right turn, at a no turn on red area, but I can't be positive. Idiot.

More later.

I'm fine. That idiot. I scraped my toes. And I think my pedal dented her bumper. Take that!

Dear Diary:

Today is Later: Upper.

I did upper. Hooray. Dips, Pullups, incline db press, something else probably. Oh, seated rows, wide and narrow grip, lawn mowers. Uhm, skull crushers w baby presses. I didn't do cardio after because 1) I'm tired, and 2) I'm sort of emotionally drained and am at that point where I'd really like to go to bed so it won't be today anymore. Not a big deal, just a long day (: Today was the monster's birthday. So that was precious. Wiggles and I got her a card. She gets funny about the kids spending money on her, so she doesn't get presents. Instead, I helped her clean out her cupboards. They have 15 boxes of unopened cereal (I think five opened, and that was after I finished off 2 boxes this morning). Three of them are cheerios. My dad doesn't eat cheerios. And she doesn't eat cereal. We also found a can of green beans that expired in Feb 95. Cool.

Protein shake, shower, bed. Check.

Have a good week!

Thanks! I wear lil boys t shirts mostly (I get them at target for like 4$...) and the sleeves are kind of tight, but they make my biceps look pretty awesome (:

The bike is fine (: Ty for asking! I was on my dad's cruiser (it has a basket. Wiggles will *not* cooperate and sit in it to run errands w me. Brat), but I'm looking into a road bike. I think I may be moving back to a more biker-friendly area, and getting out of this concrete jungle. (I lived in Chicago for awhile, skateboarded everywhere and loved it!) I've found a couple I really really like. Looks to be about 1k on a new one though. I know it will just get stolen, so I'm trying to find something ugly and old, tried and true. C-list (where i got my unicycle for 30$), will probably have something up soon, so I'm looking around for something used. And I've been going by the different bike shops every week to see if they have anything in for me.

If anyone has any comments on what I should look for in a new bike and/or suggestions for Wiggy's dress up closet, it would be much appreciated!!

on your bike, are you wanting skinny tires, a bike built for speed? Or do you want a hybrid - kind of a cross between a road bike and a cruiser?
this site has all prices ranges, but seems to have several nice ones for around $300 and no shipping fees.

Target also has some reasonable road/hybrid bikes. Went to their website typed in bicycles and found a few Women's Schwinn road bikes for $199.00 - $229
Walmart has some too:

$169

it just depends on what you are looking for and your price range. Have you tried your local classifieds? Pawn shops?
I got lucky and bought my used road bike at a local bike shop for $300. New road bikes are pricey!

She didn't even get off the phone she was talking on... omg...

Lynne -- I cannot *stand* cruisers. I thought I wanted one but I've been using my dad's now for a couple weeks and it's driving me insane. I would like a road bike, nothing for trails, so skinny tires are fine. I looked at a fixie I kind of liked, but changing gears can come in handy. Lower bars are better, since I hunch over when I ride (more aerodynamic! for speeed!!) This is one that I looked at: http://www2.giant-bicycles.com/en-US/bi ... 876/36258/

Not a true road bike (handlebars are a little different) but kinda cool just the same!

sweet! very nice.
Have you tried Ebay? I ran across some bids on there for road bikes, some as low as $129.
My road bike is a Miyata 18 speed. LOVE it. You might try searching for a good used one in your area. I bought mine 9 years ago, it is a 1988 model and all I've ever had to do is replace the tires once and get it tuned up once a year. :D You can always customize one to your standards...change out the handle bars, replace the seat (racing seats are NOT very friendly! ).

Dear Diary:

Today is Monday: Lower.

Business First:
Yeah, I plan to get something used. Mostly it is the stealing factor I'm worried about. (College campuses are good for that.) Easiest way to figure out what I want though is to check out the new stuff, since they are easier to get access to, then just sort of whittle it down (: I hadn't thought of ebay though. Thanks, babe!!

Today was slightly silly. Did lunges, bw squats, smith squats, hyperextensions, ab/oblique, and good mornings as per usual. But one of my 3 days a week w/o buddies, went to an upper/lower, so he called to see if I would do lower with him today! So, I went up to meet him, and about 1/2way through my thing he asked if I'd ever done front squats. I haven't. So he showed me those and we kinda played around a lil, so I added them. I think I'm going to replace smith with them (I hate the smith and feel vaguely dirty every time I use it). They are super fun and the way I hold the bar makes me look crazy strong. Always a plus (:

Eargh, did that like an hour ago and just realized I forgot to protein cos I came home and started on a quiz! Dangit!
