And it wasn't on the treadmill, I ran outside - it has been even longer since I have done that I think I went about 2.5 miles, and ran about half of it, if not a little more. I can't believe how GOOD it felt

I also forgot to mention that I am only .6 pounds away from not being in the "overweight" category for my height So hopefully when I weigh in on Tuesday I will officially be in my healthy weight range!!!!!!!! I still have a lot I am planning on losing, but it will feel good to not be in the overweight category anymore

Glad you had a nice run! right now is beautiful weather to run in. sunny warm but low humididty. :)

nice about the overweight category too. i'd be happy to just be out of the obese range let alone out of the overweight category. some day i will get there too.

Glad things are going well for you. :D

I have been out running almost every night this week, I am so glad I forced myself to get started with it again, it feels so good :D I am taking baby steps, though, I am not going to overdo it and hurt my knee again, so I am starting out small. I have also noticed that I haven't had any shin pain at all, so the shin pain I was getting previously was DEFINITELY from the treadmill!

I am now at 11 pounds lost, I lost another two this week (as of Tuesday). I might as well go ahead and post my weight, maybe it will keep me motivated to see it written down! I am currently at 153 pounds. That is still 20 pounds more than I was a couple of years ago after I lost a bunch of weight, but it is 11 pounds less than I was a few months ago :D So it's moving in the right direction!

That's good to know that your pain problems you were experiencing in the past have not come back to haunt you.

I am proud of what you are doing and I hope it works out for you, because you are a wonderful individual and you are ALWAYS worth the effort :).

That great! maybe you should still consider cross training to like certain weight exercises for the legs or biking just to prevent the knee injury from coming back? Build up the muscle around the knee. Happy that your knee isn't bothering you though that is great news!!

Thanks Boss and Becky :D

I am actually working on getting some routines together to start some weights, especially for my legs so I can work up my knee. I am planning on starting that next week, so I will probably run right after work (since it gets dark so early now) and then do a weights workout when I get home from running. I know that isn't the best order to do them in, but my dog is home alone for 11 hours so I need to get him out for a run right away, plus I want to get it in before it gets dark! Pretty soon it will be dark when I get home, so I need to get some reflective gear so I don't have any excuses to stop!

Jocelyn,

Great job on running every night! You are such an inspiration! I'll try and run more and let you know how it goes. It's been sooooo long.

The hardest part is getting started! But once you get going it can be pretty addictive - good luck, I look forward to seeing your updates :D

I lost another 1.2 pounds this week for a total of 12.2 pounds lost. I am currently at 151.8 pounds.

I think I am going to increase my distance tonight, I have been feeling really good with the running, so it is time to step it up a notch!

WELL DONE and keep on believing. If you feel ready for more distance, then go for it. Worst case scenario, you'll start flaking about about 80-90% of the way and have to walk some of it.

Yeah, the extra distance didn't happen tonight, I was so exhausted when I got home I barely dragged myself out the door to run at all. But I forced myself out anyway :D I just ran the same route I have been doing, so I am happy I at least did that when all I wanted to do was crawl in bed!

Just wanted to stop in and say congrats on your weight loss, and for running so much! I need to be more disciplined like you! I'm only running about 3x a week right now and I know my distance and time would improve if I added in a 4th day at the very least.

The main thing is you didn't let how you felt get in the way of what you know you need.

The little goal you wanted to go for didn't happen, but you achieved something else instead, so you can be proud of that and proud of what you are doing right now.

Keep believing and GOOD LUCK :).

Thanks! I haven't been disciplined with running for a long time so it feels really good to be able to get right back into it :D

I didn't workout last night because I didn't get home until midnight. But tonight I decided to increase my running distance and it felt so good that I kind of just kept going lol! So I did 3 miles, and I feel A-M-A-Z-I-N-G   About .5 miles was steep uphill and I didn't think I was going to survive it, but I just went really slow and made it :D :D Then the rest of it was a piece of cake! After the first section of the uphill, my brain must have gone into survival mode because I stopped hurting and it got fairly easy  Unfortunately Stewie held me back a little bit. But I can't not take him with me because he needs the exercise. But to get around that issue, I think I will drop him off at my sister's house, which is the halfway point of the run, then I can pick him up after. That way I can run as far as I want and he still gets some exercise :D

Did I mention I feel great 8)
