It's not a big step back, so just learn from it and keep pushing. It's about the long game not each ball :).

I was looking at my pictures from our trip to South Dakota this summer and I am just disgusted by what I saw. That is not what I see when I look in the mirror  I have Christmas for my mom's side of the family today and I am looking forward to seeing everyone, but I am not looking forward to the meal - there will not be a single healthy thing there besides the turkey, so i think I will be focusing on filling up on turkey! It's a good thing I looked at those pictures last night because I am more motivated than ever to get this weight off, so when I am tempted to eat some of the bad foods, I will just picture in my head what I looked like in the photos and that should keep me from overindulging :D

Hope your holiday party went nice?? I've pretty much given up on having any willpower at get togethers. :( If you did good, kudos to you! It's a really tought thing to do i know that's for sure. One thing i'm going to try and do for Christmas since my christmas is basically the whole weekend and not just one meal is to just drink water the whole weekend instead of egg nog and all that. and still eat what i want. At least it will help in filling up but at the same time you won't feel too deprived?? I'm going to try this theory this weekend. Hopefully it helps! :D

I'm still here  Yes, I am so glad the holidays are over - they were so overwhelming this year, I had so much going on. As sad as I am that it is over, I am also ecstatic because now I can breathe again :D

I haven't stepped on the scale in a couple of weeks so I have no idea how much I have lost (or gained  ). I didn't do too bad with meals through the holidays. There were a couple of days that I ate more than I should have, but it wasn't horrible. My weakness came Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with the sweets - one here, another one there, it added up really fast. That usually isn't my downfall, I am more of a snack person, so I surprised myself by overdoing it on the cookies and fudge and that stuff. But overall it was much, much better than previous years :P

I ran tonight at the gym. I didn't realize until halfway through that I didn't tie my right shoe tight enough, so now I have a blister on the arch. But I had to laugh at myself because it actually made me smile because it meant that I was working out hard again :D

I weighed myself this morning - I am actually down 1.4 pounds from the last time I weighed on December 21st, so strangely enough I lost during Christmas :D But I had gained some in the couple of weeks before that - I am currently down 10.8 pounds from when I started.

Losing weight during the holidays is a hard thing to accomplish. Congrats!!

I LOVE weighing myself and seeing it go down in the right direction. It's the best feeling even if measuring yourself is the better way to go. :D

Keep believing and keep pushing, because you CAN make this happen if you're disciplined enough and stay positive.

I am a little bit frustrated today. I weighed myself this morning and I am up .4 pounds. I know it isn’t a lot, but what is frustrating is that I have worked my tush off (apparently not literally  ) this week and I have eaten healthy 99% of the time – and the other 1% wasn’t even that bad.

On the bright side, my pants are feeling a bit looser this week, so I know I have made progress. It’s just frustrating when the scale doesn’t reflect that. I know there could be a lot of factors involved. For one, scales can be pretty fickle. Two, I don’t have the most even floors, so if it isn’t in the right spot it can throw it off. In my head I know all of these things add up to the fact that I should ignore the scale and go based on how my clothes fit.

That being said, I am still frustrated, I want to see the results on the scale  But I am going to try to force myself to ignore the scale.

I have really pushed myself this week with my workouts. Last night on the treadmill I thought my legs were going to give out but I pushed on and finished – and I felt fabulous afterwards :D

I am really going to take a serious look at switching gyms in the next few weeks. The one I may switch to has a women’s weights room and I think that I will be more likely to do free weights in that environment. I just have to find the time to visit that gym at the time I would normally go to workout so that I know if it is too busy to get any machines – plus I want to make sure the women’s weights room has enough equipment to justify using it!

that's all that matters. You are making progress. don't let the scale make you crazy. :D

I don't want another week to go by without a weight loss so instead of going to the gym tonight I pulled out one of my DVDs that is focused on weights and cardio together. I had forgotten quite how difficult those are  I pushed so hard and was a little worried how I would feel in the end. I got done with the cooldown and thought I was doing ok - until I stood up, that is  I was so wobbly I almost fell over and could barely go up my steps (and the way down was worse!). I made it to the shower and thought I was doing ok, but then when I got out I threw up  I have never worked out so hard that I literally got sick  I guess I was determined

Now if I don't see a weight loss next week I might actually scream

Jocelyn, you deserve a big weight loss after that! Hopefully it happens soon for you but like you said scales are fickle and if you don't have an even floor it makes it even more so! Just keep doing what your doing it will happen. But i know easier said than done. I don' t measure myself much really and i am pretty dependent on the scale too so i know how you feel. I hope next week is a slam dunk! Cheers! :D
