Funny, Boss Man :)

Planned to run last night but once again my knee is bothering me. Instead I did a light 2 mile walk to take it easy on my knee. I am really getting sick of this issue, I don't want it to hold me back. What I have noticed is if I take a couple of days off of working out it starts to hurt, which is what happened this time. But I am scared to run on it for fear of hurting it even worse. But I guess maybe I will try tonight to see how it goes. If it doesn't feel better I may be making an appointment to have it checked out. Maybe they will tell me I need to wear a brace or something, so I guess it doesn't hurt to have it checked.

Aaaagggghhhh, the frustration

I know it is frustrating, but if it continues then I would definitely have it checked out before you get into the heavier 1/2 m. training. You don't want to go into a training schedule with an injury - trust me...been there done that. Make sure you are not over compensating for the knee pain by changing your natural running form and putting more stress and weight on the other leg- that will lead to more injuries - again, I've BTDT! :D

OK, so I bit the bullet and made an appointment with my doctor to have my knee checked out. I go in Tuesday afternoon. I really hope it is something I can fix! I am so determined to run this 1/2 marathon I don't want anything getting in my way.

Knee pain is a stinker. Did you get new shoes and were you thinking of getting insoles too, I don't know if that would help. Hope the doctor can help and that it works out!

It started when I started running and has happened with two different pairs of shoes, one pair is new, the other pair is not new but not old. I have tried insoles but I don't like them, they don't feel right. It could be I just don't get them fitted correctly, but I gave up on them. I am getting a little concerned because it seems to be getting worse :( I wish they could have gotten me in today or tomorrow (I am impatient!).

I ran tonight for the first time in three days :D It felt great! I have been tending to my knee so I don't injure it any worse but I couldn't take it any longer so I just decided to try it. I only ran two miles so I could see how it feels later. It didn't exactly feel good while I ran but it wasn't really painful. Actually, when I got home I wished I had gone longer. I guess I will see how it feels tomorrow!

I bought new socks - they have more padding in the ball of the foot and the heel and they have a little extra arch support so I thought what the hay, I'll give them a try - I LOVE THEM!!!!! I will definitely be getting more, my feet didn't bother me at all!

I hope everybody has a safe and fun-filled Memorial Day weekend (well, in the States anyway, everyone else just have a good weekend  ), enjoy the 3 days if you get Monday off :D

And I almost forgot - I ran by myself tonight :D No running partner, no Stewie, just me! I feel like I made it over a small hurdle and it felt good :) I wasn't as self-conscious as I thought I would be. I even ran into (not literally  ) two people I know and I wasn't embarrassed, I actually felt a little proud :P

The socks are Adidas Climalite anti-microbial Women's Sport Performance. The are thick on the bottom but extremely breathable on the top. I can't believe what a difference a pair of socks can make!

Hope everybody had a great long weekend :D Back to the grind...

Saturday was a rest day - well, I mowed the lawn so not really a rest, but no formal exercise! My lawn takes 2 hours to mow and I don't have a rider :D And it isn't a flat yard. So I still got some exercise in :)

Sunday I had graduation parties all day and then spent the rest of the day at the campground my family was at. The campground has an entrance to the bike trails (we have 100 miles of bike trails in my area, very nice). So Sunday night I ran on the bike trails and it was so nice! I ran 3.5 miles, my furthest so far! The nice thing about the trails is that they are marked every 1/2 mile so it is easy to know how far you have gone. It was a tough run because it was 90 and extremely humid, but I made it and I don't think it really slowed me down. I didn't have my running watch on so I don't know my time.

Monday morning after breakfast I ran 3.5 miles again on the same trail. I am going to miss that area! It was cooler this time but my calves were pretty tight from the run the night before so I am pretty sure I was slower, but I pushed through it and finished. I almost gave up and walked the last mile but I forced myself on. To be honest, I kept thinking about posting on here and I wanted to be able to say I finished it :) So thanks everyone on here for the support, it really kept me going!

Last night I did a short bike ride with my sister around the campground, nothing strenuous, but I got a little extra workout in.

Hope everybody has a fabulous day :D
