I didn't make it to the gym last night. I had to vote and it took FOREVER! Now tonight I won't make it to the gym either. I just found out this morning that my aunt is in the hospital. She went in for dizzy spells and they discovered she has a brain tumor :( I have to have a root canal this afternoon and then I will be heading to the hospital to visit her. Overall, not the best day :(

My sister was talking about voting last night on facebook. She lives in WI too. :)

Sounds like a horrible day. :( What a scary thing for your aunt to have happen. Prayers are with her and your family. :)

I just got a phone call that my aunt (this time my mom's sister) was in a horrible motorcycle accident last night (I was with her all weekend). She is currently unconscious in the hospital. Her helmet flew off so they are expecting severe head trauma. I don't even know what to do with myself anymore.

My mom is in Alaska, my dad is in Canada (long story, RV broke down). They both have a sister that may very well not survive in time for them to make it home :( I am just numb right now :( All I can do is pray that they will both be ok. I have never prayed so much in my life.

I don't really even know what to say Jocelyn. It's awful. :( :( :(

Keep praying! Things could turn around for both of them.

I will keep them in my prayers too! Hugs.

You need to keep focusing on yourself okay :) :). This is not a time to let things slip and start neglecting yourself.

I know it's going to be hard and I empathise with you a lot, but be strong and try to keep things as normal as you can, because you CAN get through for the good of yourself and those around you.

GOOD LUCK Jocelyn, because you a truly lovely person and we are all here for you.

BIG HUGS

My aunt is doing quite a bit better. She is now in and out of consciousness and can communicate somewhat (although she can't speak). But I think the worst is behind. They are still unsure of what kind of head trauma has occurred, but now that she can communicate they should be able to move forward more.

I haven't worked out since last Monday and I can really feel it. I have been eating like crap (fast food and take-out is all I have had time for). But on the bright side, I didn't eat near as much as I normally would under the circumstances. I didn't eat healthy options, but I also didn't gorge myself on them. I had small servings and was able to stop at that. Small victory I guess.

As far as all goes well the rest of today, I should be able to get back to the gym. A good run sounds really good to me right now!

Thanks for your kind words, Bossman and Becky (and the prayers), it means a great deal to me!

My aunt is going home tonight - possibly the luckiest woman in the world :D

I finally made it back to the gym tonight. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Unfortunately I chose the broken one. It works, but something seems to be loose on it, so when I "step" down it kind of jars. My knees are killing me :x I will be icing them tonight. I didn't even realize it was hurting me until I got off. Oh well. I will just have to remember to stay away from that one until it is fixed (I already told them before I left).

It's kind of sad when I have to specify which aunt is leaving the hospital :( The one who was in the motorcycle accident - she was unconsious for more than 24 hours and then three days later she can go home - it's kind of crazy.

My other aunt (with the brain tumor) was released over the weekend to go on a family vacation they had already planned. The doctors thought it was important for her to spend this time with her family (she is on steroids to keep the inflammation down). When she gets back next week she will have the biopsy and surgery. They thought it was important to spend this time with family because the biopsy is so dangerous that she may never speak again, or worse :(
