Deadlifts

Post by Fygle »

Why are they the #1 exercise for muscle/strength building? Is it because they activate several muscle groups simultaneously?

because.. name one exercise thats invokes tons of weight, and hits the hole entire body

dead-lifts hit - traps, rear delts, middle and lower back, hams, quads, calves, forearms, biceps,abs..etc..

your dead-lifts should be the heaviest thing you can lift/move..

promote a great deal of muscle growth, and overall body growth..

I think power cleans are superior to dead lifts. Both work almost all the muscles in your body. The power cleans add cardio to the mix and some extra bit of upper body work.

If you do dead lifts right (with sufficient poundage) you won't be able to get an erection for at least 6 hours afterwards. If you do it really right, you will have to swear off for 12 hours.

If you can have right after dead lifts then you are not training hard enough.

Actually I'm not kidding.

Guys: Don't do deadlifts on weekends or you will disappoint.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Remember to tell your significant other, "No deadlifts after Thursday..." so that you can enjoy the weekends.

power cleans don't have the time under tension to build as much muscle as deads

Honestly, deadlifts are favorit exercise ever. 1) I lift heaviest in them, which is like only 60kgs, 133lbs (for now!), 2) I ALWAYS wake up sore the next day throughout almost whole body. Esp hams, calves, lower back, traps and lats, too!. They do work the whole body.

Hell, after I do deads, I honestly lost 50% of energy for other exercises. Sometimes I feel doing deads alone is more than enough hahah (although not true!)

I really would like to hit 100kgs (300lbs or so) by the end of the year.

Deadlifts have got to be favorite exercise too. I do Squats, Deads and Overhead press in a circuit style... and I'm completely wiped out after that run, especially on the Deads.

I have a question for Packard. How did you find out not to have after deads. No wait, I don't want to know the answer to that.....

Deadlifts are very important and a big help for bodybuilders. They release more testosterone than any other lift, because of all the muscle fibers you recruit when doing some exercises. The more released the better.

Deadlifts build the back like you would never. If you want huge trapz and a massive back and body, deadlifts are key.
