Wow, thanks guys!!! I knew I could count on all of you for a little confidence boost!!! :D I will wear it and keep on working so I can get a stringier one for next summer when I have hopefully lost that last 10 lbs that is sticking to me. Yes, my hubby says I look great but of course he is bias. He always says that no matter what as a good hubby should. Haha. Hugs and kisses to all of you for your help and never ending support!! Oh, and Fitover40, yes, I just noticed the hand placement in pic. Such a man!! LOL

Hey, Bonnie girl! Thx for noticing my progress! Well, still one more day in the weekend. Do you have Labor Day where you are? The weather was not good today so no beach but I did go bicycle trail riding for about 2 hrs with my family. I hope I burnt a few cals because after that we went for ice cream and I had a hot fudge sundae. I hope you are doing well!

Thank you, Kev. The awesome people on this site have helped me a great deal!! I have worked very hard for the last four months and intend to keep it going. Lord knows it does not get any easier as we age. :( I see on your pics that you ride a motorcycle. My husband and I ride on his Triumph. We love it and get out anytime we can between kids and work. Are you new here? Lynne, yes, the trail riding was awesome! Some of the trails were pretty tough but my husband rode behind me and prodded me on. LOL. The sundae was an awesome treat but I am sorry to say not the first this weekend. Tomarrow is a new day!! :D

Hey, Guys! Well, you haven't lost me yet even though I haven't been around in a few weeks or so. Been busy with kids in school and such. Anyway, I have good and bad news. Haha. The good news is that I am still getting to the gym. :D The bad news is my diet has been reeeally crappy! My cals are still down but I know am not eating the right foods and probrably not enough. The thing is that I got sooo sick of chicken and fish I was gagging it down. Not good. :( Has anyone else ever had this experience?? Well, I took a little break but know I need to get back on track before I gain any weight back! Obviously I have not made ay weightloss gains in the last month but I put some new pics in my profile anyway to keep things fresh. LOL. I hope you are all doing well in your endeavors! Let me know what you have been up to and any diet motivation advice would be a plus!! :D

Keep in mind that chicken and fish are not the only sources of protein out there. You can also have lean beef, venison, turkey, lean cuts of pork, soy, eggwhites (my favorite because you can do so much with them!), low fat cheese, cottage cheese, quark (I do love quark!), and of course protein powder when you aren't able to get in solid protein. Also keep in mind that there are many varieties of fish! Theres tuna, steelhead (my new favorite!), salmon, tilapia, orange roughy (I'm sure I didn't spell that correctly), trout.... For chicken there are LOTS of ways to prepare your meal! Chicken tacos, grilled chicken salad, low carb chicken wraps, chicken breast sandwich (boil the chicken then shred... mix in a bit of mustard or other condiment and put on whole grain bread), chicken kabobs (my favorite!), or simply grill some chicken then chop and add to whole grain couscous, quinoa, or whole grain pasta... top with tomato sauce or simply throw in a little salsa... yum! There are lots of options out there. You just have to get creative! If this healthy eating stuff is going to become a lifestyle you really do have to play with the food and recipes a bit to find ways to create meals that you enjoy. :)

Hope this helps.

Yes, Cassie, I think variety is definetly needed. I was eating the same meals EVERY day!! Not a "recipe" for success. It is a little difficult for me to be creative with work and cooking also for an entire family. However, I am branching out from my usual chicken and sweet potatoes. Sometimes I even go out to lunch with my co-workers but order something healthy such as a veggie wrap! Your suggestions are a big help!! :D Congrats on your engagement!!!!! I have been following your journal and you are quite an amazing young lady! If you don't inspire me no one can!!!! LOL. Your updated pics are awesome! Good luck on your competition. You will be great!!!!

Well thank you for your compliments... the congratulations.. and the good luck wish! :)

Yes, variety is KEY. I think one of the big reasons why people so often fail with diet and exercise is because they make it harder than it really needs to be. To lose weight you don't have to eat the same things everyday and you can still eat good tasting food! You can still have things like pizza, tacos, hamburgers, and other treats... its just a matter of learning how to prepare them so they are healthy. And as for cooking for the whole family... here are some ideas for cooking some typical family dinners: For pizza... make your own whole wheat crust (simply google it and you'll find tons of recipes), then load it with low fat cheese, veggies, and chicken. Tastes great and its actually not bad for you! For tacos... they have some GREAT tasting low carb tortillas out on the market right now that are actually not bad for you, simply use lean beef, chicken, or tilapia (fish tacos are my favorite!) and top with low fat cheese and veggies. If you must use sour cream opt for fat free and salsa is always good for you! For hamburgers... again grab the leanest beef you can find, opt for whole grain buns (I would actually only use one bun and make an open faced burger), leave off the fattening mayo, and top with veggies. Tasty! For sweets.... when baking I use whole wheat flour whenever possible, never use as much sugar as recipes call for (or substitute half or all the sugar for stevia or another sweetener) and substitute unsweetened applesauce for the butter or oil whenver I can.... There are lots of healthy options out there that will allow you to cook your familys favorite foods! When shopping at the grocery store notice that in pretty much every aisle you'll find healthy options to typical foods. Its just a matter of branching of our your comfort zone to opt for the healthier options. The kids might complain at first when you start bringing home different foods than they are used to, however they will benefit greatly from the healthier meals and might actually learn something along the way so when they move out they'll know what it means to prepare and eat healthy meals.

Hope this helps! :)

Thank you once again, Cassie. I don't know how you find the time to write such detailed responses with all that you have going on right now! Anyway, I am expanding my healthy eating horizons. LOL. Today I made some turkey chili with kidney beans that was sooooo delicious. I totally get what you are saying about having a diet I can live with for life. I can do this!!!! :D

You inspire people as well Sandi. To look like that at your age, is pretty amazing. Some could look closer to 65. I've seen it, it's possible. However you'd have to live like crappola, to make yourself look that prematurely aged.
