1 Year later..

Postby Axidias » Mon Oct 12, 2009 7:43 am

I dug up an old pic of me, took the same pic and I couldnt believe it. I knew I had gotten somewhere but jesus! Thats 20lbs lighter too.
Image
I been losing 2-3lbs a week for the last month so heres what I did
Starving yourself does not work, eating a little bit does not work, 500calories of elliptical and starving yourself, does not work, binge eating, does not work.
I finally started eating breakfast, just a small bowl along with some juice and multivitamin, eat a pb&j a little later, eat something else, then eat a little something for dinner. I also get PLENTY of omega 3 from flax seeds. I never seen such a weight loss per week until i added the omega 3, incredible stuff. I dont work out or anything. I am in college I sit all day, might do 10 pushups if I feel like it. On weekends I run stairs till i cant take it anymore. What do you guys think?

Not bad, but i'd still incroporate weight lifting, as you're still potentially losing out on things like Muscle and Bone improvement, which will be better for you when you're older, as it will help to reduce the risk of frailty, postural issues and Bone density problems, plus increase reduction of things like Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and neurological, carcinogenic and coronary risk.

The benefits of muscle mass on bone cannot be overstated.

Especially if you indulge in any kind of carbonated beverage, which can be very hard on your bones.

I was planning on the gym tomorrow and from now on but I think I need to eat more if I am going to build muscle. Not sure what. I hate vegetables. For the last year I was just trying to get rid of the weight. I kept my abs tense for a lot of that year which added a nice little bonus since they are prominent though not defined. Im not sure what to do at the gym. I dont think I need any more cardio. But I am not sure if its the machines or the free weights I should be on. Oh and I ended my pepsi addiction when I figured out 23g a day of sugar was all you were supposed to get, a can of pepsi has 49g and I used to chug atleast 5 cans a day. So I haven't touched another carbonated drink since maybe 2 weeks ago. I did 500 cals on the elliptical a day last year for a few months doing the weight machines every other day but it didnt seem to build me anything. I didnt eat very much so that might be it, but im afraid if i do i will gain weight. :?

Went to the gym.. Did the machines and free weights, everything until I couldnt pick anything up. Went home got some protein and ate a couple whole wheat pbjs. Not sure how much exactly I need to be eating or what exactly I should be eating. I get plenty of carbs but not much else. I also got on this bench that has a nerf bar thing that holds your shins so you can do crunches and it lets you angle it so you go over 90degrees to get back to where your sitting upright and that thing absolutely killed me, I felt everything burning and all, what exactly is that working? I thought crunches just worked leg muscles but this thing felt like it was getting my lower abs but I dont know, figured you guys could give me some input on that. Im not up on all the lingo so I dont know exactly what I did today. Oh and should I go every day or what?

crunches are abs.

If you are doing every muscle every visit, then go 3x/week every other day.

You need recovery time.

Well what do you eat currently, and when do you eat it.

Also you said you kept your Abs tense for about a year, I'm confused about that. Do you mean you were going around on pretty much a daily basis, trying to tense them?

Currently in the morning I eat raisen bran or oatmeal or fiber one or kashi stuff for breakfast, just maybe 2 servings with the milk. Then I get home a couple hours later and eat a well technically, almond butter/jam/flax seed/cinnamon/honey--sandwich. Then I might eat oatmeal or cereal whatever one i didnt eat in the morning, and eat that in the afternoon. Then I eat spaghetti or eggs or something simple like that for dinner. And yes, basically I kept them tense for as long as I could remember to keep them tense..driving, sitting at my desk, anytime I remembered. Dont think I need to worry about that now because of how much it kills my abs on that declined crunch bench thing.

How do you get protein with every meal? I know its in meats and stuff but its not like meat is appetizing till lunchtime or later and I dont really have the time every morning to make eggs and stuff, so what other options are there that wont break the bank?

Might have to do the protein powder thing. I eat chicken but not that much. With the powder I think I can get 50g in a day, which is still too low I think. I dont like tuna but I might have to try stomaching it. I am very sore since I havent been to the gym in a longgg time, though at least that means it must be building something. My abs and chest feel like they are purple or black lol. Oh btw, why is it better to do like 3 sets of 10 pushups instead of just doing as many as you can and calling it quits after that?
