 Probably both boss!! I wouldn't put it pass them.

i was waiting for the individual gymnastics to come on for women last night. i was really looking forward to it. It came on and i fell asleep with the tv on after they did the horse. I then woke up at around 3 and it was being replayed on tv. Do you think i can stay up then?? No back to sleep i went! so basically i saw maybe 15 minutes of the whole thing.

Last day till my vacation yes!!

I didn't eat that well last week. i kind of went off course. So i weighed myself today and i gained. .8 pounds. I'm at 236.8. time to make it go down!!

last night around 6:30 i found myself starving! i haven't gone grocery shopping in a long time. i think i didn't eat enough during the day today. i could have had scrambled eggs but i didn't. i had a lean cusine lasagna (most of it) and some veggie chips. All carbs so not great. But i think i stayed within my calories.

today is going to be worse because i'm out of a few things. but here we go!

freggies: 0
water: 0
exercise: 0 (60 minutes)

7am diet pepsi

diet hasn't been great today i'm not going to say. But i will say i'm at 850 calories right now which is low for 4:30pm. going to the grocery store tomorrow. my gym offered me 5 free pt sessions. He asked me if i wanted to be with the trainer that was bugging me about the money. She was nice i just didn't like her bugging me when i would gladly have paid if i agreed with the amount. He said she wants to work with me. So i said okay. :? She's going to call and we will set it up. so i will see how it goes. it might be awkward in the beginning though. But it's only for 5 times anyways.

Done with work. I have a week off!! Going to try and do incline walking this week. twice a day every day just for this week. even if we have something planned! and i want to swim a lot too!

watched the 10,000 meter race in track and field. i think thats maybe a 10k. Very skinny people! and of course fast.

Off to do my incline walking for today. Only doing 1 hour today. But i will do 2 hours tomorrow. in the morning and late afternoon. :D :D

That's a great concept for a tri - the time being predetermined instead of the distance. Those times are really close to the times folks get in mini-races too, which is cool. I think in my last "Try-a-Tri" I did the swim in 9:something, the bike in 30:something, and the run in 20:something. Glad to hear the swimming is going so well, too. I'm really proud of you, buddy! Eff the 8 lbs weight gain, you're not quitting any time soon :)

Thanks Karrie! i really appreciate your support and encouragement as well as everyone else's! Sometimes lately it gets a bit quiet on the forum. and i feel like i'm posting and don't really know if anyone is really reading. :D It makes you appreciate very much when people take the time to read and every once in a while comment. :D :D

Okay so far i haven't worked out at all today! i've been busy from like 2am all day practically. Now i'm not busy but my mom will be watching tv the rest of the night and unless i can convince her to turn on the olympics i will have to watch her tv shows while i work out. And i hate watching a lot of the stuff she watches. Not that i always watch quality shows though. LOL We both watch some trash television. This is embarrassing but i like to watch meet the kardashians.  there totally not people i would have anything in common with and i don't even like them sometimes but i do watch it. and i like to watch it working out. Mainly because their on a lot. But now i'm probably stuck with her shows. :P

I think i'm just going to go for an hour today because of being busy. Unless i can convince her to watch the olympics later. My trainer called me. She asked me if wanted to do 2, 1 hour sessions and 1 30 minute session or 5 half hour?? Boss or anyone do you have any suggestions on that?? I kind of feel like maybe 2, 1 hour but i dunno. Off to workout and get it over with!

I'd ascertain what is being offered before comitting to one or the other.

Technically you're getting the same amount of time, but doing 5 x 30, means having to find 30 minutes, 5 days a week to do this. This should be fesible for most people, but you might find the other way is more easy, only requiring 3 days, but again it depends what the person would intend to do, as logically it couldn't be the exact same thing in both scenarios, but just scheduled differently, I would have thought.

So I'd find out what they want to do in both cases and pick whatever sounds more enjoyable.

Oh and people do read, but sometiems feel no need to comment :).

I LOVE reality tv! I think it's funny, relaxing, and interesting. Don't be embarrassed! I'm watching Red Neck Island right now, that is a real show!

LOL I haven't seen red neck island yet. What channel is it on?

 Yeah!! Karrie is always watching.

today i didnt' walk on incline. Instead i walked at the park and then we went to adult night at the pool. There is hardly anybody there i LOVE LOVE LOVe it. and it's so nice that my mom still has the membership. Not only is it good for her and learning how to swim but i LOVE the company. She really makes me feel better about my swimming. I definitely feel more confident with it. I think i may even be alittle faster. Tonight i swam with her for the most part but here and there swam a lap or two with her and then the last 20 minutes she went in the hot tub (outdoors as well) and i swam across the leisure pool which is longer than the lap pool with the freestyle and kickboard. I'm tempted to do some incline walking on the treadmill but tonight i'm not going too. Just because i had some issues with my calves in the past for a few weeks once while swimming. They for a week or so felt like they were going into a charlie horse. So i will take it easy tonight but try to do more tomorrow if they feel alright. ears feel good too. i haven't been wearing a swim cap though and i know i should to cover my ears i think that would help with irritation if any.

today's food wasn't the best today. although i didn't eat a whole bunch.

I just thought of something. Tonight i swam for the 20 minutes by myself and i really didn't stop for anything or take a long break at all. I did use the kickboard on maybe 2 or 3 laps. And the swim for the mini tri is only 10 minutes. LOL Now if i can just lose some weight to look not really good but not as bad in a bathing suit by then!!! I have a bathing suit that literally is falling apart at the seams. sewed it multiple times. I tell my mom it makes a noise everytime i put it on. LOL But i've been holding off on buying a new one. Although now it's even harder becaue of lot of the suits are gone. Would like to lose some weight before buying another one. We will see. Not doing anything too much the rest of the week except maybe two things so now is the time to focus on the diet and exercise and lose some weight!!! I have all week!! I also have to add biking to the mix eventurally since i don't do that at all but not now. will wait on it for a while. :)

That's fantastic! The swimming part will definitely be your strength, hey? Nice that you can practice that one for the rest of the summer and then change gears in the Fall for the cycle and walk/run.

As for the bathing suit....you just may need a new one for the tri in November if you keep this up!

I don't really think i will have a strength. I'm too fat for a strength. My swimming is getting better but i'm willing to bet i'm still really slow! what do you think is a good time for 10 minutes in the pool. or how many laps do you think would be good for me to aim for?? I know i couldn't go as fast as you do so not as many as you swim but just on average?? have any thoughts on that? Next time i swim i will count all my laps for 10 minutes and not use a kickboard and see where i'm at. and i did take small breaks last night to catch my breath a little when i used the kickboard so i will see next time i swim where i am at.

I hope i will need a new suit. I won't particpate in the tri if i don't lose some weight!! i really won't. :(

I'm just going to try my best in all of the sports. I have a little bit of experience in biking and running but that was so long ago and so many pounds ago i don't think it really counts. See what happens i guess though. :) I really would like to do it though it sounds like a lot of fun and they have them all winter so if i countinue to lose weight i can do another one and see my times improve possibly.

I would punch you in the arm if you were sitting next to me right now!! :P Being overweight doesn't mean you don't have exercises that you prefer and that you are best at. Lots of people can't get in the water, or swim 1 lap, and you can. That's a "strength", and you have lots of them, whether you acknowledge them or not *arm punch!*

One buddy to another: I think you should do that November tri specifically. It's 3 months away which is the perfect amount of time to get meaningful and safe gains. If you say you will do the tri if you lose weight, then that puts losing weight in the balance as the variable that determines whether or not you do the tri. You may not lose weight because the tri "deadline" is flexible, then have neither in November. Making a concrete goal, like "I am doing the triathlon at my gym on November ___, 2012. My plan is to swim, cycle, and walk 1x per week each for the next 3 months, and my goal is to need a new bathing suit due to weight loss by November." will nail down your mission and help you stick to your plan, because there's an end in sight. If you feel strong enough to take this on now and are motivated, I say put it on your calendar and train for it girl, you can do it! I know you can. Don't be scared. You can do this and you can do it really well. If you just believe in yourself every day between now and November, everything you want to do will happen.

....I know you might say, "Thanks for the advice Karrie, but I'm going to see how it goes." :) That's okay too. You know I'm excitable and I like to make goals. Have a great Sunday babe!

Sorry i say stuff like that all the time. I'm really awful. i'm really hard on myself. I will make fun of my weight to people for them to laugh. I say a lot of crap that really is awful and probably not very positive. sometimes i'm joking but sometimes i'm serious. I need to stop doing that though! that time i was serious though.

Well if you say it like that i have to say i don't know. I have to wait and see how my training goes and how i improve with each sport. I do want to start keeping track though of my results just to show my hopefully improvements!

the thing that is stopping me from really doing that. is the swimming issue. I do okay walking around in a bathing suit mainly because i go when not a lot of people are around. I don't like crowds of people at all and then to be walking around in a bathing suit, competing in a sport that i have just really learned recently is very scary to me. if it was just biking and run walking on the treadmill i would sure do it.

this last month i've kind of lost focus on my "other" main goal which is my debt and saving up. I'm only mentioning this becauee i think my debt and A LOT of things i'm not happy with in my life effect my weight a lot.

I really want to get my own place. I would love a townhouse or even a condo. But i need to pay my debt off first. and this month with joining that freaking gym that i didn't even use the weight loss group i've spent more money. and a few other things we've done i've kind of lost focus on my debt. :(

But i need to stay focused!! and i'm definitely canceling the 80 a month gym membership when outdoor swimming is over.

Diet goals

Postby musculArgirl2 » Sun Aug 05, 2012 12:47 pm

Making some sweet potatoe fries today. Yummy i love them with garlic powder and paprika and olive oil and a little light ranch dressing!! i really need to start cooking more. last fall when i was losing weight i followed spark people and would cook more. But i've gotten out of the habit. It's hard being a single person and cooking. i eat my mom's cooking but she will only eat some of mine. Some of it she doesn't like. I'm going to try and batch cook more. Eat one serving and freeze the rest and reheat during the week. Also i want to save money too and time!! i think i am spending too much for a single person on groceries. this is going to requre some organization though which really isn't a huge strength of mine. :P

I'm going to follow the sparkpeople diet again. I really like spark people. It's a more moderate approach which is more doable for me i hope! but i will still try to eat a decent amount of protein especially being prediabetic! And sparkpeople is free which i like as well with a lot of ideas for recipes and cooking!

read this blog of a girl that was overweight a lot of her life and lost 125 pounds. She's on sparkpeople too. She says in losing the weight she would only do things that she was willing to do for the rest of her life!

For example, she wasn't willing to eat 1200 calories a day forever so she didn't do that. She ate more. She wasn't willing to not have a dessert so she would allow herself one desert every day that was 200 to 300 calories. She said she didn't like salads so she didn't eat them. She did eat pretty healthy though but she allowed herself things. She said she still can binge but one thing that she does is if she feels a binge coming. and is craving something she will eat a portion of whatever it is she wants and she will wait 10 minutes to see if she wants more. She usually doesn't crave it after that because her blood sugar has risen is what she said. I thought she had some good ideas. :)

FYI i've decided to just do an hour of incline walking every day. :) Still doing other exercise though along with it like swimming and walking at the park.

Now i'm swearing off the computer for the rest of the day!! too nice out. :)
