Update on cholesterol:
So in March of 2008, I was tested when renewing my group insurance/disability plan and these were the results:
Total ratio 5.96 (no good)
HDL .9 (low)
LDL 3.96 (no good)
Triglycerides 2.4 (no good)
Also about 350 lbs and smoking
Now I am a "risk" for the insrance company and no longer qualify. Nice. Sort of a bottom here
So I went to doctor to see what could be done, and got into different things - quit drinking pop, decided to quit smoking (didnt quit - just decided that I would), quit drinking so much. Then I got re-tested in Aug 2008:
Total ratio 4.87 (ok)
HDL .83 (low)
LDL 3.29 (ok)
Triglycerides 1.66 (borderline)
Ok so on I went, kinda muddling, no real plan...no knowledge...then we found out my dad needed a triple bypass - second "bottom" if you will, then I quit smoking April 19, started on here in June, and now...watch this....
October 23,2009
Total ratio 4.35 (desirable)
HDL .82 (still low)
LDL 3.1 (desirable if < 3.4)
Triglycerides .95 (normal)
Doctor said he never sees this kind of turnaround without drugs. Again, told me keep doing what your doing
Needless to say, made my day! Week really.
