Update on cholesterol:
So in March of 2008, I was tested when renewing my group insurance/disability plan and these were the results:
Total ratio 5.96 (no good)
HDL .9 (low)
LDL 3.96 (no good)
Triglycerides 2.4 (no good)
Also about 350 lbs and smoking
Now I am a "risk" for the insrance company and no longer qualify. Nice. Sort of a bottom here

So I went to doctor to see what could be done, and got into different things - quit drinking pop, decided to quit smoking (didnt quit - just decided that I would), quit drinking so much. Then I got re-tested in Aug 2008:
Total ratio 4.87 (ok)
HDL .83 (low)
LDL 3.29 (ok)
Triglycerides 1.66 (borderline)

Ok so on I went, kinda muddling, no real plan...no knowledge...then we found out my dad needed a triple bypass - second "bottom" if you will, then I quit smoking April 19, started on here in June, and now...watch this....
October 23,2009
Total ratio 4.35 (desirable)
HDL .82 (still low)
LDL 3.1 (desirable if < 3.4)
Triglycerides .95 (normal)
Doctor said he never sees this kind of turnaround without drugs. Again, told me keep doing what your doing

Needless to say, made my day! Week really.

Today...
6:00 McDonalds - 3 sausage and eggers, coffee with cream and sugar...hashbrowns. J/K!!

6:00 apple
2 hb omega 3 eggs, low fat cheese, cauliflower, broccoli, a few almonds
9:30 lf cc & salmon, carrots, caul, broc
12:00 chicken, spinach, cuc, red pepper, almonds
3:00 same
6:00 lean meat, veg
9:00 low fat cheese, peanuts

That is so awesome! I love it when people can make those changes without the meds! Shows that with a little hard work and determination it can so get done!

Good job!!!

ahahaha! that's funny

Awesome job Brent! So happy for you and all you have accomplished! I wish more people could see that changes can be made the old fashioned way - hard work & discipline (and lots of cauliflower  ) and not rely on drugs or other aids. You are such an inspiration! Keep up the good work! :D

Do you make these yourself, or are these something you buy frozen at the store? I have bought frozen meatballs, but haven't seen ground turkey balls. Also, on your chicken you have everyday, how do you prepare it? Do you grill or bake a bunch of chicken all at once, then just freeze it to take out and use individually?
The reason I'm asking, is I'm am trying to figure out how to "pre-plan" more of my meals ahead of time, because if I wait until meal time to do it, I'll just end of eating a PB&J sandwich, not having the patience or time (packing meals for work, etc.) is my worst downfall (well, one of my worst :( - the list is long...). So any tips or help you can suggest would be much appreciated!
You seem to have it down to a science...I admire you for that. :D

I love cooking extra food at night to bring the next day. Or on sunday night I'll boil lots of eggs for the entire week. It's quite easy once you find a system that works :)
