Challenge 2015: The Year of Being A More Toned, Filled Out, Yet Still Lean Workout Machine in 2015 - Food and Exercise

Post by whenlifewassimpler »

This is Food & Exercise Journal

Feel free to join me in posting your daily food intake and/or exercise. I met weight loss goals March 20th, 2005 and then over the next year lost 10 more pounds and since that time have held steady in a 3 to 4 pound range. I did Pilates, weight workouts and walking to meet initial weight loss and have continued to use them and other workouts over the next 9 years. It's all about moderation, eating sensibly and having variety. We cook our own 'frozen meals' yet still eat what we like and also have ice cream, cake and other yummy treats but again in moderation. This is a life long journey , not a diet that once you reach a goal you go back to what you were doing before and guess what get the same result....gain weight and start the process all over again. It's not easy but it also shouldn't be that hard that you don't want to do it. Most people don't cause they want their pizza, ice cream, cake, brownies....(fill in the blank). We get to have all we want and like but again the key is "in moderation". We have an ice cream scoop and limit ourselves to 1, 2, or 3 scoops. We eat a serving size, not a mega size and get to eat what we like, when we like. Remember no one but you can do this....so our motto for not only staying healthy but many things in our life is "WHO MAKES IT HAPPEN, YOU DO".

So join me in making things happen for you. Sue

January was an excellent month both eating and workout wise too. Had 2 morning workouts I missed due to shopping but made up with lots of walking. Still on track with chocolate for the month and with the PB, as I had PB for lunch for a number of days and Sunday breakfasts too. daily fruit was great in addition to breakfast and lunch again for most of this month. Got Vitamin D for the month.

Start date for February will be February 2nd, Weeks 1 & 2 MWF will do Self's Tone It all- Easy Plan, Hard Body(uses a resistance band) and Week 3 & 4 will do Band workout with Resistance tube (chest press, chest fly, standing row, reverse fly, overhead press, lateral raise, upright row, biceps curl, Overhead triceps extension and Squats - 2 sets of 12. For Tuesday/Thursday evenings for the month will do an Evening workout of walking/jogging in place/dancing

Weigh ins

1/11/15 118.5 Sunday weigh in (bloated) up most of night water retention
1/18/15 119 Sunday weigh in, extremely bloated
1/25/17 117.5 Sunday weigh in

Food goals: Food goals remain the same...continue to take vitamin D, and keep up the increase in the fruits and veggies in diet, and try some different type of veggies, which we have been doing well with. Also continue to try out some different recipes, which has been going very well. Plus continue with the getting in chocolate several times a week (and continue to have peanut butter too). Also going to cut down on the ice cream and try making more fruit based desserts. In addition am loving our yummy soups from Campbell's and having a half can it gives us 2 dinners and also tummy likes it too LOL Lots of veggies...plus even the ones we buy are low sodium and we will be splitting the ones we eat together, so we each get half and have them over rice, egg noodles, too along with just the half can with some saltines and a small slice of French bread. Plus we still have some of our own lasagna left we made up. Plus soon will be making our own manicotti too....so will have a plethora of great meals. In addition to the fish when I went shopping last week....salmon, tilapia and Alaskan Pollock too. In addition to the other frozen dinners we will be making up for ourselves, pizza and also some pastry dinners too. Once we get our pastry skills down. Will try the Pillsbury pastry first to make sure we even like them. Can also make up some calzones too with our pizza dough. So we are very excited about our fare.

Hi Sue.

I've amended your post sizes to 120 with bold, as I have mentioned to you these tags

Code: Select all

can be amended to size 120 and with the bold added, this should be adequate for you and also a good compromise between your needs and what readers may feel :).

Make sure you dust half the surfaces with one arm and the other half with the other arm, so both arms get an equal workout :funny:
