Challenge 2015: The Year of Being A More Toned, Filled Out, Yet Still Lean Workout Machine in 2015 - MAY

Post by whenlifewassimpler »

This is Food & Exercise Journal for APRIL 2015

Feel free to join me in posting your daily food intake and/or exercise. I met weight loss goals March 20th, 2005 and then over the next year lost 10 more pounds and since that time have held steady in a 3 to 4 pound range. I did Pilates, weight workouts and walking to meet initial weight loss and have continued to use them and other workouts over the next 9 years. It's all about moderation, eating sensibly and having variety. We cook our own 'frozen meals' yet still eat what we like and also have ice cream, cake and other yummy treats but again in moderation. This is a life long journey, not a diet that once you reach a goal you go back to what you were doing before and guess what get the same result....gain weight and start the process all over again. It's not easy but it also shouldn't be that hard that you don't want to do it. Most people don't cause they want their pizza, ice cream, cake, brownies....(fill in the blank). We get to have all we want and like but again the key is "in moderation". We have an ice cream scoop and limit ourselves to 1, 2, or 3 scoops. We eat a serving size, not a mega size and get to eat what we like, when we like. Remember no one but you can do this....so our motto for not only staying healthy but many things in our life is "WHO MAKES IT HAPPEN, YOU DO".

So join me in making things happen for you. Sue

April was a good month as I only missed 2 morning workouts and made up for the workouts by either walking or cleaning. Had to replace two nights of weights with walking due to tiredness and only missed one night due to no sleep the night before. So I am a happy camper. Well not with the not sleeping, but old age has it downside LOL So did great again with workouts and eating. Getting more veggies in plus more fish and looking to try to get even more fish in too. In addition, still on track with chocolate for the month. Did not do well with the PB this month. Will have to buy the PB ice cream again so I get full of it. Also need to buy some new PB. daily fruit was great with lunch, plus in desserts. Got Vitamin D for the month as always with fish and daily dosage too.

Start date for May will be May 4th. Weeks 1 & 2 MWF will be Self's Sculpt Smarter 6 moves, 20 minutes - Shoulders, Gluteus Medius, Arms, Latissimus dorsi, abs and legs; Weeks 3 & 4 MWF will be - Beach Ball exercises - Tone Every trouble zone - Tilt-a-whirl, Dipsy do, Close Reach, Reverse Lunge, Pendulum, Hold Your Own, Tummy Toner; Evening workouts - Week 1 - Express workout armed - Arm workout - Arnold V-Sit; Multicurl, Burning Bridge, Crocodile Row, Ab-Fab Press and variation of the Combat Burpee; http://www.fitnessmagazine/armed For Week 2 - One of our favs...The Sexy arm shape up - http://video.self.com/watch/sexy-arm-shape-up Week 3 WHM 15 Minute Workout Armed for Summer - http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/ ... for-summer and Week 4 WHM Sculpt Sexy Arm - http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/arms-workout; For T-Th for the month....evening workout walking/dancing/jog in place

Weigh Ins for the Month:

4/5/15 117 Sunday weigh in
4/12/15 115 Sunday weigh in
4/19/15 116.5 Sunday weigh in
4/26/15 117.5 Sunday weigh in

Food goals: Food goals remain the same...continue to take vitamin D, and keep up the increase in the fruits and veggies in diet, and try some different type of veggies, which we have been doing well with. Also continue to try out some different recipes, which has been going very well but slipped up a bit and have to get back on the stick. Plus continue with the getting in chocolate several times a week (and continue to have peanut butter too). Also going to cut down on the ice cream and try making more fruit based desserts. Need to get back on the stick with that. In addition am loving our yummy soups from Campbell's and having a half can it gives us 2 dinners and also tummy likes it too LOL Lots of veggies...plus even the ones we buy are low sodium and we will be splitting the ones we eat together, so we each get half and have them over rice, egg noodles, too along with just the half can and a small slice of French bread. Stopped the saltines due to salt and starting bothering both of us...old age....not so grand LOL

Plus we still have some of our own lasagna left we made up. Plus soon will be making our own manicotti too....so will have a plethora of great meals. I still have some fish left over last month's shopping in the freezer so will be set till we go shopping again, have some salmon fillets, and fillets with Alaskan Pollock and also got some crab and lobster for lunches. In addition to the other frozen dinners we will be making up for ourselves, also some pastry dinners too with lots of veggies. Will try the Pillsbury pastry first to make sure we even like them. Can also make up some calzones too with our pizza dough. In addition will be making up some ravioli too! So we are very excited about our fare.
