Meal Plan? Any Suggestions???

I am currently on a meal replacement plan from GNC. (Lean Shake) It is my 4th day on the meal replacement diet. I just joined this forum today and i read about meal replacements not being so good so i think i will stop the meal replacements today. Now, I just need a meal plan... I have no clue as to where to start, what to buy , what to eat...
Age:24
Height:5'4
Weight:190lbs
My goal is to weigh 130lbs hopefully by next year. Does anyone have suggestions for a daily meal plan for me?? Thanks :D

Hey girl... WELCOME TO THE LOVELY SITE (This is my co-worker/friend from my night job :D )

Write down what you eat and what time you eat... before your stupid meal replacement?
This would give us a better look at what you're eating and improve it from there.... :D

Ok so i actually don't have a meal plan yet... but im thinking about this meal plan... let me know if my planning is on the wrong track..

7:30 am- cereal: small bowl of honey nut cheerios with 2% milk fat. (breakfast)

10:00am- banana and apple (snack)

12:00pm- sandwich- 2 slices of whole wheat bread, mustard/mayo, turkey, slice of cheese. (lunch)

2:00pm- small salad- romaine lettuce, garbanzo beans, carrots, soy beans, tomatoes, cucumbers with sesame soy dressing. (snack)

4:00pm- nuts (snack)

6:00pm- white rice w/ meat(chicken, beef, pork) usually stir fried.

Lil more protein with breakfast maybe. And with the apple/banana snack. Can you have an apple and some ff cottage cheese maybe?

I know you said stir fry with dinner, so I'm guessing that means veg. Can never have enough veg (:

Hi there!

What about something like this for a meal plan.

7:30 am- cereal: small bowl of plain cheerios with 1% milk, 1 egg and 4 eggwhites, fruit. (breakfast)

10:00am- banana OR apple with lunch meat or low fat cheese (snack)

12:00pm- sandwich- 2 slices of whole wheat bread, mustard/mayo (make sure the mayo is low fat), turkey, slice of cheese (go for low fat cheese), veggies (lunch)

2:00pm- Make it a large salad!- romaine lettuce, garbanzo beans, carrots, soy beans, tomatoes, cucumbers with sesame soy dressing. (snack)

4:00pm- nuts, add in some lean protein here (chicken, lean beef, lean pork, low fat cheese, soybeans/tofu, fish) (snack)

6:00pm- brown rice w/lean meat(chicken, beef, pork) usually stir fried

Would that work for you? Just a few minor tweeks and i think you would see better results. :) Whatever you do, stay away from those meal replacement things. Those are pure crap!

Thank You everyone so much for all your great advice!! Cassie switching from white rice to brown rice is gonna be hard since white rice is my favorite... but i shall try!! :D

Girl.... I know what you mean!!! - But it is sooo worth it for your health & diet :wink:
Keep us posted... You can even keep a food journal here if you like... :D

What are you thinking of eating when you have class at night?? You will pack your rice?

What are you thinking of eating when you have class at night?? You will pack your rice?


I'm thinking of bringing a sandwich with wheat bread, turkey, mustard, cheese and maybe lettuce. Hopefully next semester i won't have night classes so that after 5pm can be dedicated to working out and studying... but classes are so hard to get so i will just have to see how things go...

Brown Rice: would it be okay if i cooked the brown rice with chicken stock or would that be all bad??
