So I've been looking at this for awhile (about 3 months) and I've finally decided to get a weighted hula hoop. I've read a lot of reviews, and most of them say to start light (3lbs). It also seems to me that a lot of people do enjoy it. My sister has one and she HATES it, mostly because of the bruising., which I'm told goes away.

I am a regular hula-hooper (I work with kids, we jump rope a lot too!), so I think this could be fun.

I would like to state my intention that this is *not* going to replace any cardio or weights I currently do, it's mostly just for fun, even though it is technically a "fitness product". They just look neat!!

Well as novelty item, it sounds better than a lot of the crap you can buy, that stimulates half an Adductor muscle, or two muscle fibres in an Ab and possibly causes increased risk of sexual dysfunction or something like that, but people buy then anyway, as it's supposedly a snip, when you're buying something the same price of two boxes of Cereal.

So I won't criticise this thing, but I will reserve some judgement, as I can't form a real opinion one way or the other.
